"Where the hell have you been" Father snarled when I entered the pack house the next day. He looked like he was about to skin me alive. "We've been looking for you everywhere" he added before I could say anything.

"Is everything alright, did something happen to the pack?" I asked worriedly. What if something happened when I wasn't here? That was me being reckless.

"You're the alpha, you should know," David said this time even though I informed him of my absence. I sighed looking at them waiting patiently for them to say something. Clearly, I don't know what they were talking about and I was so damn tired, I had the most beautiful night of my life and to hell, they are not ruining it.

"The castle has been upside down looking for the king. It's been two days since he disappeared" I bit my lips not to smile at the mention of my mate's name and what we did yesterday. "This was our chance to know where he went kolan and you happen to disappear without a trance" Father shook his head in disappointment.

"Why do you think it's our chance," I ask trying to sound as normal as possible to not give myself away and holding back a smile that wants to creep out so badly.

"Because this is new," Father said "he had never skipped a day without working even if it is his birthday, he never celebrates it since the disappearance of his lost Friend Ambrose" I bit my lips at the mention of the name, recalling what Dean had told me. I had never heard anyone mention him, this was my first time hearing his name "We needed to find out where he went but you decided to run off gods knows where" Father added pacing around in thoughts.

"Is he back now?" I asked since they were talking in the past tense.

"Apparently he just showed up this morning. James informed me" Father breathed in. So James is his spy "he went missing on his birthday, that is something. I needed you here for that. He went without any guard, it was certainly something" It was like he was talking to himself but we could hear his thoughts. "Is it that he met up with Ambrose?" Father asked himself.

"You might be right Father," Glenn said tapping his index finger over his mouth "I think they reunited" I almost scoffed. If they only knew.

"We need to find out more. Kolan, I need you to go to the castle. find out anything, any piece of information is useful" Father ordered.

"I can't go there because I won't find out anything," I say looking at them.

"What do you mean by that" Father snarled.

I took a big breath looking at Father who had averted all the attention toward me patiently waiting for me to say something but I don't have anything to say to him. I can't betray Dean no matter what. He trusted me with his secrets and even if he wasn't my mate, again, I wouldn't betray him. I wish I had stayed in that room with him and not come back here, since I started seeing Dean, this pack and family feel foreign to me.

All I want is to lay in bed with Dean and have a conversation, kiss him and cuddle. All I want is to show him love and see him smile like I did yesterday and most of all, I want to shout to the whole world how much I love him

"I told you, the man is so secretive. It's very hard to know anything about him. He can't tell anyone" I say not looking into their eyes. I know they will read me like an open book. Why am I bad at lying?

"There has to be something Kol, for fucks sake I was told that you spent the other night at the castle and that never happened before" I look at Father shaking my head in disbelief. "I thought you were spying on him but you didn't tell me anything the next day" the nerve of this guy. Me to spy on my mate.

Never.

"Yes I spent the night there but it doesn't mean I have something on him for god's sake" I was getting angry by the passing minute. Why can't they let it go?
