The Danger That Lurks

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother."

Jami' at-Tirmidhi 1930, Book 27, Hadith 36

"Sorry? Are you sure?" the other man now asked, his brows raising in suspicion.

"Yes I am," Adil once again answered in his very casual voice, "but maybe my wife knows her, as she is a girl, maybe she met her in the ladies' section today," He turned towards Aamina who was standing in the living room, being a witness to the whole scenario, but before he asked her, he once again turned towards them, "but what's the problem? Why are you looking for her?"

"Oh you don't have to worry about it, Sir. She is just a nuisance and trying to create problems for us. We have declared her wanted-"

"I think being the commissioner, I have to worry about the things going on in the city and in the police station. Since when was it that I was not even being informed of such things and since when did you take matters like declaring a person wanted without my permission? Or is it because I couldn't come to the facility daily in the past month due to the marriage that you see me as a joke and think that you can do whatever you want"

This was the first time that Zeeshan was seeing his father in his role and the strange fact during all his rebuking was that his voice didn't even raise an octave. Yes, it was hard and strong and he thought that was scarier than if he had been loud.

"No Sir, we didn't mean it like that. This girl claims to be a journalist, her previous employer has made a report against her accusing her of running away with some confidential documents, she has been duping people wherever she goes and has been putting some serious false allegations on our minister. All in all she is a criminal and since you were so busy in the last month, we couldn't get the chance to inform you about this."

"We have been working on this for quite some time. We also had leads from the neighborhood police facility against this girl and the last time you had to come to the station for that article, we have a suspicion that she was the one to post it. We have been trying to track down the IP address, but I guess criminals like her are quite good at this. The address locates from one city to another, but not the correct place. You have read the article yourself, and must have guessed by now how dangerous she is."

Adil kept looking at the duo for a few seconds and then turned towards Aamina, "Aamina, do you by any chance know her?"

Aamina strode towards them and only after having a good look at the photo she responded in quite a nonchalant manner, which her son, could look right through, "No, I don't know her"

If Zeeshan was shocked earlier, he felt he would go into a coma right now. What the hell was happening? Was Nargis not visible to anyone else than him? Was she a ghost?

"Are you sure Ma'am? We think we saw her carrying the gifts. Maybe she was from the groom's side?"

"She couldn't be from the groom's side. That I can assure you, as there was no one from his side. As for the gifts, as far as I remember, I just handed them to some random girl passing by. I didn't look at her face to be honest."
