Whoever brought his Muslim brother out of discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection. – Sahih Bukhari

Disbelief.

Absolute disbelief was what was written across Nargis' face. She had till now believed that Adil got information in favor of her. But it was the opposite?

Her eyes widened a little, but she shook her head nonetheless at his question.

"Because once I got to know who you were dealing with, I was fully convinced that he was the culprit and not you. Honestly, I have been trying to put him behind bars for so long. Recently when he was arrested, I was the one to get him arrested on the basis of a testimony of a father whose daughter was raped by him. But due to a lack of pieces of evidence or should I say due to the disappearance of all evidence by his men, he was released. The police were also involved as they are all bought by him and they work secretly for him. For now, I am not sure about who all are working for him and so I cant lower my guard around anyone. But I am working on it."

"And since you were in the lair of the beast, you got hands on some serious important evidence which I being a police officer couldn't get. So, I need all those documents, so as to work on this legally. I just want a copy of each document. And even though they are not enough to get him a sentence, they are enough to turn his world upside down, and enough to let him make a mistake." Adil saw a look of apprehension on Nargis' face and continued once again.

"Nargis, you can't deny the fact that no matter what risks you take in exposing them, you wont be able to put them behind bars, not when you are all alone and not one newspaper or policeman to back you up. Not to forget your life is at risk here. This can only be done legally and lawfully."

"I agree that the police are also involved but not all of them. I am not one of them and I am trying to find who all are not. They have all the power in the country while you have nothing close to that. So please understand. Also, you need a backup for these documents. What if they caught you, then these evidences will be gone as well." Adil tried to make her understand.

She agreed after weighing her options and knew that he was right. Adil asked Mehreen to get the documents copied and taking the file she went towards Zeeshan's room.

"I also need to clear one thing," she looked at Zeeshan and then his forehead which now had a band aid on it, "I updated the article from your laptop, but believe me, I did that only after making sure that the IP address was not tracked. After my blog was hacked and deleted, I spent quite some time in learning the hacking and the diversion of IP tracking system, so that I don't make the same mistake again. I can never, in my wildest of dreams think of putting you or your family in danger. But you were right, I should have considered the cons as well. And so, I will be taking your leave right now." She stood up and saw Mehreen coming back with her file in hand.

"No"

"Wait"

Zeeshan, uncle, and aunty uttered at the same time.

"No you cant go. I will not let you. Its dangerous out there-"

"Zeeshan, I cant stay here forever an-"

"Why not?" he almost shouted. Nargis felt something clutch her heart in its tight grasp.

"I-I mean, you can stay till everything is resolved. Now even papa knows everything and you will be safe here."

"What about you then? What about you all? I told you they are very dangerous people and I cant risk anyone of your lives. The police had already seen me and they reached here to investigate. I being here will only bring you danger and life risks. And I would die a thousand deaths than exposing you all to danger" she spoke harshly and with a stern, her voice louder than she normally spoke but lower to respect the elder.
