"And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever places his trust in Allah, Sufficient is He for him, for Allah will surely accomplish His Purpose: For verily, Allah has appointed for all things a due proportion.” (Quran, 65:3).

So anyone realised a character crossover here from one of my books? It was in the previous chapter but I forgot to ask you guys.
Let me know your answers 😉

Dread.

Utter dread filled Zeeshan's heart as he realized what danger Nargis had fallen into. And his mind couldn't stop but ask the question,

Was she..dead? Was she killed by those men?

He had stood frozen on the spot, staring at the direction the jeep went to. And as the thought crossed his mind, a stifled sob came out of his mouth as his eyes filled with tears. The thought kept sinking in and he found himself trying hard to breathe. Clutching his shirt above his chest, he leaned onto the bike as a stray tear trickled down his cheek and onto the bike.

..I trust you. You are not a coward. Remember all that I have taught you and bring back yourself and Nargis safe. I am with you..

A voice resonated in his ear and he found himself looking around.

"Dad..?" he whispered as he recalled that was what his father had told him. A newfound energy filled his form and in an instant, he turned around his bike and was on his way to follow the jeep which he might have lost in his stupidity but he decided not to dwell on the negative thoughts but rather be positive and hopeful about it.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel.

"Sir, try to understand. How can you say that? Even after all the evidence you are saying that you cannot sign on the arrest warrant?" Adil yelled exasperatedly, his patience which up until now was holding onto a thread had left its clasp and all he wanted right now was to punch the chief standing nonchalantly in front of him.

"Lower your voice Mr Adil. I already said it and I am saying it again, I cannot sign the warrant on the basis of these fake evidence. Bring me some solid evidence or you can leave" he said with a straight face and went back to his work, "Right now" he almost yelled, making Adil leave the office and close the door with so much force that the whole office jumped up in its place.

Rubbing his hand over his face, Adil dialed Qaiser's number and relayed him the news, and heard Qaiser's curses from across the phone, of course they were just mumbles. He didn't dare to curse loudly in front of Adil.

"I don't have any other option, I am going after Zeeshan. How much time will you take to reach?"

"About that Sir, we are stuck in traffic, and it's not a normal one. I guess it may take more than an hour"

"Okay. What about the other men?"

"They are with me sir. Though still clueless as to who is the culprit. And I don't plan on telling them either" Adil heard a snort from the other end of the phone and rolled his eyes. Only Qaiser can find humour in these threatening situations.

"Yes keep it that way. Though I highly doubt that would be the situation for long for I am guessing that the chief would have already called the politician to let him know about all my escapades. The good thing is that I didn't tell him about Nargis or the fact that you along with the force is out to take him down."

"Also do one thing Qaiser" Adil entered his car and started the ignition, "Get in touch with the reporter who publicized the news on youtube. I don't care how you do it, but do it. The chief wants some solid evidence, we might as well try to give him some." The confidence that oozed out of Adil's voice was something to feel proud of and Qaiser did just the same.

He smirked, "Anything for you sir"

"Also don't get into any trouble. I don't want you or any other policeman to do something which could be considered as breaking the law. Considering our profession, our hands are tied and we have to abide by the rules. Remember Qaiser, we can only do so much, within our domain. I don't want any of you to get in trouble with the police academy and get ridiculed over the fact that you were trying to save a girl but did it by breaking the rules."

"-But Sir-"

"No buts no ifs Qaiser. Trust me, one wrong move and you'll be ridiculed for the whole of your life, in fact, the whole police academy will. So, wait for my instructions. Let me assess the situation and we will act accordingly. For now one thing is for sure, that we cannot barge in the house of the politician. Let me think of something else. You just do the work and try to reach as soon as possible. Will let you know of any further changes"

"Yes Sir" Qaiser spoke loudly and Adil disconnected the call, immediately calling his son as he rode away.

"Dad-dad they took her away. I-I saw her in a jeep. I don't even know if-if she's..alive." he rambled on as soon as he picked up the phone, his voice cracking in between and the last word was just a whisper. He just couldn't speak it out loud.

"Calm down Zeeshan and tell me what happened" Adil spoke in a stern voice but hearing that had his insides churning with worry. And so Zeeshan told him everything and that he was now trying to follow them but they were nowhere in sight.

"Okay. I am on my way and Qaiser is too along with the team but I guess you will be the first to reach wherever they are taking her. But, first tell me the location you are moving towards or better send me your live location" Adil asked speeding up. Zeeshan immediately came to a stop, hurriedly send his location to his father's phone and started his bike once again.

"What was the color of the jeep?" Adil asked halting his car on the pavement.

"Black"

Adil quickly typed up in his phone and send a message to a friend in the cctv department asking for a personal favour and not disclosing anything.

"Okay I have asked to check the cctc footage of that location. Though its like finding water in a desert considering we don't have the number of the vehicle, but lets hope for the best. You continue your search, ask around for the vehicle. If something comes up, I'll let you know. And Zeeshan, we are on our way, but if by any chance you reach the place first and know that it is where Nargis is taken, you'll have to take control. Just be safe. Okay."

"Okay"

******

Zeeshan asked around a few people and moved in the direction they told him where a jeep had sped upto, but he wasn't sure. For Allah's sake there must be hundreds of black jeeps out there. His earbud pinged indicating a message and he immediately stopped to check it. It was a location sent by his father. The very next second his phone started ringing.

"Yes dad"

"Zeeshan I guess the jeep was tracked. The location which you sent earlier, a black jeep was sighted on that very place a few minutes earlier. The operator followed it across the cctv's, but the location I have sent was the last the jeep was seen. After that there are no cctv's further, unfortunately."

"Dad I think I am on the right track. I will follow the location and will see after that."

"Okay. I have sent the location to Qaiser as well but I don't think he'll be able to reach anytime soon and me too. You follow the route, I'll check for the possible places Nargis could have been taken ahead of that route." With that he disconnected the call and entered the location on his laptop which he had taken with him in his car for any emergency.

After spending a whole lot of fifteen minutes looking for any warehouses and abandoned houses or any place close to being shady enough, when he didn't find any, his gaze fell upon a place which was on the other side of the route he was looking at.

He was confused and his right eye twitched with the possibility of the girl being there, but it just didn't explain the jeep going through that route.

Unless..there is a hidden route or something like that. He immediately looked at the road map of that area and after looking for whole five minutes, he spotted a U turn in the middle of a road which turned towards the wild off the road.

And beyond that wild, stood the politician's mansion.
