The search party had set off.

It was a group of six. Sun was in the lead. Perry, Neo, and three White Fang soldiers went with him to find Blake. Sun hadn't expected much help since he and Blake were stowaways, but six was still not a number he was happy with. Especially as he passed by several uprooted trees.

Perry pulled out his scroll. "Perry here. We've gone over two miles. There's still no sign of her."

"It's better than finding remains," Sun said.

"Unless he's gobbled her down," Torchwick said through the scroll.

Sun scowled. "Give me that."

He snatched the scroll from Perry's hand. "Most apes only eat fruit."

"Most apes don't have a size-90 foot," Torchwick retorted.

Perry took the scroll back. "The men have had it. I'm going to pitch camp."

Sun's anger increased. Was nobody taking this seriously?

"Are you a bunch of old ladies?" he said. "Come on!"

"That's right, Monkey-Man," Torchwick said. "Keep moving!"

Sun looked at the men. They were all worn out. They hadn't gotten any rest all night. If they kept walking, they would lose the energy to fight if the need arose. It seemed they didn't have a choice. If they were lucky, the giant ape was tired too, and he would sleep long enough to catch up.

"No, Perry's right," he admitted. "It makes more sense to stop."

With that, they started setting up their tents for the night. Perry and Sun worked together to set one up.

"They'll be checking the radar tomorrow," he reassured. "Any large, furry blimp starts moving in our direction, we'll know."

Sun didn't respond to his statement.

"That footprint measured 6.4 feet," he mumbled.

Perry heard him clearly. "If it were real. How high would that make him?"

"Multiplied by about eight, I guess," Sun said.

"He'd make a hell of a commercial," Perry joked, much to Sun's disdain. "If he's not going to eat her, why did he take her?"

"I'm not an ape expert," Sun said, "but I know they're very territorial. He'll probably take her to his turf."

"What for?"

Sun shrugged.

"Joe said you said the ape was going to marry her," Perry said. "Was that some kind of joke or--"

"I don't know, Perry!" Sun shouted. "I'm as ignorant as you. Quit asking so many dumb questions."

Sun didn't get any sleep that night. He could only think about Blake. He tried to rationalize that she was alive in his mind, but there was still a lingering feeling inside that the ape had killed her. He stared into the stars, and he remembered that moment he'd had with her in the crow's nest.

It really was a nice view . . .
