The twin towers loomed over them.

Blake had never been so close to them before, and they were far bigger than she'd imagined. She looked up at them in awe. There were no lights on at this hour, but they still sparkled in the moonlight.

She turned her gaze back to Kong. He was staring up at them, too. She couldn't see his expression, but she imagined he was more amazed at them than she was. After all, he'd never been in a human city before.

Kong lowered his head back down to look at her, and his eyes seemed to brighten the moment they locked with hers. Was that supposed to mean he found her more beautiful than the towers. Blake smiled.

Then, Kong turned to his right. He was agitated by something. Blake looked where he'd been looking, and immediately spotted what he'd been staring at.

There was an army of Huntsmen and Huntresses crowded together on the street, weapons trained on Kong. She could recognize a few in the crowd. Glynda Goodwitch, Professor Oobleck, and Professor Port. She could even see Professor Ozpin in the front.

They weren't firing. Either they were waiting for Kong to climb, as Sun told them to, or they'd seen her in his hand, and didn't want to hurt her. If it was the latter, than Kong would be safe as long as she was in his hand.

Kong scowled at the army watching them. He roared, and made his way for the corner of the South Tower. He gently set Blake down on his shoulder. He grabbed the edge of the building, and started to climb. Blake was clinging to his fur, and staring down at the world below, which was getting smaller the more Kong climbed.

"Blake!!!"

She could hear Sun in the street yelling to her, and she saw him running for the South Tower.

"Close your eyes! The bullheads are coming to net him!"

Blake shook her head, although she knew Sun couldn't see. She was happy where she was, and she had no intention of letting anyone hurt Kong until she could talk to them.

Sun ran through the doors to the South Tower. He made his way for the elevator. As soon as he reached it, he pressed the up button. The doors opened instantly. Sun was surprised at the luck, at first, until he remembered the building was completely empty. Everyone had already left, and the last time the elevator was used was to bring people down here.

Sun practically leapt inside the elevator, and pressed the button for the 110th floor. The elevator doors shut, and it started to make its way up, very slowly. Sun already wished he'd taken the stairs.

Blake stared down at the streets below. She had never been scared of heights before. She'd been in Kong's hand many times, but she had never been afraid of getting dropped, even when she'd been scared of him. But now that she was seeing the world from so high up, and she only wasn't falling because she was clinging so tightly to Kong's shoulder, she was feeling serious acrophobia.

The Huntsmen were holding back a crowd of civilians that were gathering around the plaza to get a glimpse at the beast climbing the building. Spotlights shined onto his back, and Blake pushed her head down against his fur to keep from getting blinded.

Kong reached his hands up to the roof of the building. He pulled himself up, and placed his legs on the roof. He stood tall atop the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He reached for his shoulder, and took Blake into his hand. He pulled her off, and he stared at her.

Blake stared back, her eyes glowing under the night sky. She and Kong looked off to the view from the building. The world was so small from here. Blake had never been so high from the ground in her life, and it was both beautiful and terrifying at the same time.
