The war between the Archon became dire day by day. There was no sign of clear blue sky anymore. It was dark with the essence of war with the air polluted with the smell of blood. Each time Xiao crossed the forest, there would always be a pile of corpses around.

Today was no better. His battle with a God had causes him suffer many injuries. His vision was red due to the blood and his body felt extremely heavy.

At some point, he could not bear the pain and flopped to the ground after his attempt to hurry to receive aids from his fellow warrior. It seems he was too late.

Xiao senses were becoming dull, but he could sensed someone was close by and was looking down at him. Such a mockery gaze, but he was too weak to react to it.

"Oya, look what we got here, someone shamelessly laying down on my porch."

Xiao struggled to look up at the cocky person that was mocking his state.

It was you, with eyes looking bright with a confident smile. In a flash, what he initially thought of you gone immediately. You did not look like someone that would make fun of him. It was as if a wash of hope reignite again in him. How long has it been since he had seen a sun until now ?

"You look battered up over there. Need a hand ?"

He would not usually receive a help, but during all the process, he let you do anything you want. Eventually, he passed out.

You looked down to him who was sleeping. You had finished dressing him with bandages you saved for any emergency. It was expensive, so you were hoping this guy could pay for your medication.

There were many scars on his body, fresh and old ones. He had a strong body, no normal person could survive the deep cut on the abdomen. All the time you were tending to him, you had to calm yourself when touching his lean body.

His fever was spiking up, so you placed a damp cloth over his forehead and eyes to avoid headache.

Right now it was the Archon war. No mortal survive an attack unless this person is not a mortal. You gazed over his spear made out of Jade. From the looks of it, the blade could tear through anything.

Xiao finally awake from his sleep. He took off the cloth from his face, groaned in the process of raising his body. He was in an unknown home. It was dark for awhile until his vision fixed to the room.

There was a gentle light at the other corner, and he began to hear clanking of something over a metal. Then, you appeared from that corner and looked surprise seeing him.

"Oh, you awake ! I'll get you a bowl." You said, placing your own bowl to get him another one.

It was just him and you. Sitting across him was a mortal that had saved his life. She was stirring her own bowl while he kept staring at her, then to the bowl in his hands.

"Do you need help ?" You asked, placing your own bowl aside to help him, but he just quiet as he looked down to the food again.

"I've never ate this kind of food before." You tilted your head confuse.

"Never ?"

"Never."

The only thing he had been eating for the past years was snow. It was tasteless and melted in the mouse. This one served to him right now was in a form of liquid. Would it taste like the water ?

"It's called soup." You suddenly added, seeing him pondering so loudly with his face.

"It's good for your recovery. I put herbs in it." His ears perked up at the word herbs.
