Before being a General Mahamatra, he was your boyfriend.

Both of your mission was aligned one day. He was a Matra, and you were a Scribe. Since you failed to achieve some important relics thanks to someone who stray away from the mission, the Akademiya sent a Matra apprentice to assist you in the desert.

That when you met Cyno. He was a pain in the ass for you before. He had the same tendencies as your partner to go on their own into the danger alone, but at least he did not completely ghost you.

It was more of him trying not to put you in danger than just bluntly leaving you behind. Once you found out this side of him, it became easier to read him.

He was bold but cute. He was scary sometimes but had a good heart. Over time when our mission continued to align, you fell in love with him.

It was another 'hardship' to get him notice your feelings. You even asked for his friend, Tighnari, help so Cyno won't get your intention the wrong way anymore.

One day, when you got drunk so badly, you confessed to him in a rather indecent way.

You went to clench onto his chest, he was wearing a cape at the time, and confessed to him in drunken slurs mix with frustration that had been in your chest for some time.

Well, it became a hot topic within the Akademiya for awhile, even your come-and-go partner tease you for it. You decided to hide yourself in your home, taking a week leave even though you risk getting mad by the Sage.

When you heard knocks on the door, you shouted.

"Go away, Alhaitham ! I don't want to see your stupid face right now." You said underneath the blanket, ending up with a sob.

But the door opened anyways. You threw your blanket aside as you raised up with a face in fit of rage. Your frowned deeply in displeased that someone just entered when you said no, but after seeing the person standing in front of you, your eyes widened.

It was Cyno.

You went to hide yourself again into the blanket, avoiding him, face was completely red as you were reminded of your stupid confession in the tavern.

"(Y/n)..." he called you, and your heart beat so hard it resounded in your ears. Your whole body was frozen and afraid to make any sound. You embarrassed yourself enough.

"I know it's a bit late. I'm not good with this kind of stuff." You did not react, but you listened to him.

"I was wondering why you weren't working for a few days. Tighnari explained it to me and I realized it was a big deal. I thought when I meet you again, I want to talk to you, but you were here all this time."

"I'm sorry... and I like you too."

Your body jolted up, your eyes almost bulge opened hearing his confession. Cyno seemed to sympathize with your condition, seeing your eye bags and messy hair. He did not know you were in this kind of state after that confession. He did not know it was hard for you.
