Humming happily, I dance around the kitchen and sometimes stir the food in the pot which is slowly simmers in front of me. I was out drinking last night, accompanied by some friends which decided to turn night into day. A fact that I figured out while drinking alcohol is that I can fall asleep faster drunk and manage to sleep trough the whole night. Not like some of my friends which had way too much alcohol and probably hugged the toilet after returning home.

First, I don't realise that I am no longer alone in the kitchen but then I hear a soft grumble and turn around to face the door. Max is leaning against the doorway, eyes just halfway open, hair falling messily onto his forehead and in general just looks like he has a big hangover. I did not expect anything else because he was more than just a little bit tipsy last night.

"Good morning." I greet him with a wide grin and probably way too loud for his headache. Max flinches at my words and tries to look grim at me but doesn't keep his face like this for long. Probably because I walk over to him, wrap my arms around his torso and press a kiss onto his lips, even though he still smells a bit like alcohol. "Are you a little bit hangover?" I ask him with a teasing tone and brush one of his hair strands away from his forehead.

Obviously still tired Max leans his head against mine and mumbles an almost silent and self pitying "Yes, but I wasn't even that drunk." Incredulous I lean a bit away from him and look at Max with raised eyebrows.

"Oh, you were pretty drunk." I contradict him and Max tilts his head a little bit to the side. "Everything is a little bit blurred, but I think I can still remember everything." Max says and frowns a little bit, trying to think of anything he might have forgotten.

I let him believe for now that he knows everything and look back at my food. "If you are quick you can shower before the food is ready." Is my information for Max while I spice the food a little bit.

"Okay." Max grumbles and disappears with slow steps into the direction of the bathroom. Smiling I shake my head about his hangover behaviour and start to set the table because the food will not take much longer. Max usually does not need much time to shower and just when I make some plates ready with food he returns to the kitchen.

We wish each other bon appetite and start to eat. After some time, Max clears his throat, making me look at him curiously. "What happened to me last night?" He asks a question and I tilt my head slightly. "What exactly do you mean?" I do know what he wants to know, but I want to hear it out of his mouth.

"Why do I have scratches on my hand and is this a bite wound?" He asks me upset and shows me his left hand. A long scratch covers his arm almost to the elbow and on his finger is the imprint of little teeth. On the inside I begin to grin, but I try to supress it on the outside.

"Well, you thought you developed some magical powers." I start the first part of the story and Max looks like he wants to disappear into the ground already. Lifting his hand, he looks at it before his gaze glides to me again. "Even though this already sound embarrassing enough, it doesn't explain what happened with my hand." Max says with a mixture out of shame and curiosity.

Grinning I lean back on my chair. "You said your magic allows you to speak with animals." I start and Max covers his face with his hands and mumbles an "Embarrassing" in his hands. But I am not finished yet and continue with the story.

"We were already on the way home but suddenly there was a squirrel and you wanted to present us your magic. You started talking with the squirrel and in the beginning, it came closer, sniffed on you hand, but then you started to gesticulate with your right hand. It got scared but instead of running away it decided to attack you." I end my story and Max has shame red ears by now.

"I was attacked by a squirrel?" He asks, not really believing my story, looking closely at his fingers. "What if I get rabies now?" Max panics and looks at me with widen eyes, but I can calm him down immediately.

"We went to the doctor who already gave you a shot and disinfected the wound. I was told to remove the plaster over night to let the wound breath. And you wanted to get rid of it the whole way back home." I give him some more details of the evening.

"If it gets infected, we should go back to the doctor but if not, it should heal just normal." I add with a soft smile, hoping to have answered all of his questions. "Thanks for looking after me." Max thanks me and gives me a loving smile.

Some minutes later, we continued eating, Max starts giggling. With a grin I look at him and wait for him to tell me what is so funny. "Attacked by a squirrel." He giggles after some time, and I can't do anything but laugh with him. Yes, this is a funny story that happened to us yesterday.

"I think I am happy that I can't remember it." Are Max next words which make me grin diabolically and with my next sentence I can watch how every positive emotion disappears from Max face.

"Don't worry, I have everything on video."
