WORDS: 802
PROMPT: "I feel whole when I'm with you."
_____The storm is roaring outside, rain creating a rather harsh rhythm against the windows while the wind howls outside the house. Inside, everything feels warm and safe. Only one of the lamps is on, bathing the room in a soft light. Franco and I are cuddled together on the couch, wrapped in a warm blanket, our bodies as close as possible, fitting together like two puzzle pieces.
My head rests against his chest, feeling the steady beating of his heart under my cheek. His arm is draped over my shoulder, nestling my body closer to his. We've been lying here for some time now, and I do wonder when Franco is going to get bored and need to move again, usually always doing something to keep himself distracted. So, I just savour the moment, letting his warmth seep into my body while I'm not planning on moving anytime soon.
"It's perfect, isn't it?" I murmur, trying to check if Franco is as comfortable as I am while tracing some random patterns on his abdomen with my fingers.
Franco hums softly, nodding his head. "Perfect." He agrees, his voice soft as ever while his grip tightens a bit. "I could stay here forever. With you, I mean." With these words, he presses a kiss on top of my head, making me smile while my heart flutters. Franco's hand moves slowly over my back, a comforting gesture that makes me feel even more at ease.
I tilt my head a bit back to meet his eyes. "I don't think I'd mind that either." I rest my cheek back against his chest, letting the peacefulness of the moment settle in again.
There's something about these quiet moments, wrapped up together on the couch. Usually, our lives are hectic, with Franco racing around the globe and always being active, doing something—anything, honestly. As much as we both enjoy the whirlwind kind of life, we both enjoy slowing down from time to time. Letting the rest of the world fade away until there is only the two of us.
Franco's fingers gently brush through my hair, and I close my eyes at the soft feeling. It's the little things like this that make me feel so at ease. His touch, his presence, and just the simple act of being together without the need to fill every silence with words and conversation. I never thought I could be so comfortable with someone, but since I've been with Franco, everything feels natural.
I sigh and snuggle closer to Franco. "You make everything better," I whisper, my voice a bit drowsy because I feel sleepy. "Like, I don't even need anything else. Just being here with you... it's enough."
Franco takes his hand out of my hair and gently tilts my head upward by my chin. "You're enough. I don't need anything more than this. Just you, here, with me. That's all I need."
I feel my heart stumble at his words, warmth spreading through my body. Then I lean up to kiss him slowly. Lips moving just softly against each other, staying calm in their movement as a contrast to the storm outside. But all I can feel is Franco's lips on mine, his hand on my cheek, and the comfort that comes from being in his arms.
When we pull away, I can't do anything but smile up at him. "I feel whole when I'm with you," I say, my voice just above a whisper, but it feels like the words weigh heavy. It's not just words, it is the truth. In his arms, I always feel like everything is where it needs to be.
Franco's expression softens, his thumb brushing over my cheek while his eyes lock with mine. "I feel the same way," he replies. "It's like... when I'm with you, I don't need anything else. You make everything else fade into the background."
The grin is stapled to my face by now. "I don't want to be anywhere else," I murmur, my eyes closing while I cuddle back against his chest. The rain slowly lulls me into a peaceful state. "Just here. With you. That's enough."
Franco tightens his arms around me, pulling me even closer if that's possible. "I could stay like this forever. I think I'll always want to be right here with you. This feels like home."
I can't help but blush at his words. Home. This is exactly what it feels like being with Franco. He is exactly the place where I was meant to be. For the rest of the evening, we stay in our cozy little bubble, wrapped up in the blanket and each other, while the storm continues to roar on the outside.
In that moment, I know for sure that nothing will separate us ever again.
