Maia sat on her bed staring at the phone, debating if she should call or not. A day had passed since she received the flowers and still no word from Lucky.

Fuck it.

She picked up her phone pressing the contact name she had for the woman. She listened as it rang, stopping before it could ring for a third time. She stood silent on the line waiting for her to speak first.

"Maia?"

"Lucky"

"Maia"

"Lucky"

"Lucky I- thank you... uhm the flowers were very beautiful"

"You thought so?"

"Yes..."

The phone got awkwardly silent, as if the both were unsure of what to say to each other.

"I miss you" Lucky spoke breaking the silence. The words made Maias stomach turn, and not in a bad way. She didn't know how bad she wanted to hear those words until now.

"I miss you too"

"Can I see you?"

Maia thought for second, was she ready to see Lucky again. She face palmed herself.

What am I thinking, of course I want to see her

"Yes" she answered quickly.

"I'll see you soon" Lucky spoke before hanging up.

Maia panicked wondering if the girl meant she was going to come here, jumping out the bed Maia started to move anything that was out of place before taking a shower since she had been at work all day today.

Looking at the time while she toweled dried her hair, she thought Lucky was crazy— it was almost twelve in the morning and she was supposedly on her way. Maia slipped on something comfortable before she rolled her anxiety reliever up into a paper. Lighting it letting smoke fill her lungs, puffing the contents as if she was in a hurry. The idea of Lucky showing up made her more nervous than she thought she would. She began to fix things that didn't even need fixing, and attempt to keep her mind off of the girl who was making her way there.

A knock was heard from the door, Maia looked the peephole, her heart quickening in pace at the girl who stood on the other side. She opened the door gesturing for her to come in. She looked perfect, as if it wasn't the middle of the night. Her hair was perfectly parted to a side as it fell down her face, and she wore her usual black attire— but something about her felt different to Maia.

"Welcome to my home" Maia spoke leading her to the couch. Maia sat on one end while Lucky took the other.

"I hope I don't seem crazy just popping up, but I needed to see you" Lucky spoke looking across the couch towards Maia.

"I don't think you're crazy Lucky..." Maia fiddled with here hands as she sat legs crossed on the couch.

"Am I making you nervous?" Lucky asked noticing how the girl squirmed in her seat.

"Yes, but no. Well not for the reasons you think" her eyes now moving around the room, avoiding Lucky's eyes that stared at her— burning holes into her side.

"Enlighten me"

"I gave it some thought... and I'm not mad at you, I just didn't expect to..."

"I know"

"But it wasn't my place to see it to begin with"

"Not your place?" Lucky's brows furrowed as she continued to keep her gaze on Maia.
