Maia was enjoying her night in what seem to be a palace of a place— on her  now fourth glass of champagne she was now beginning to feel the familiar buzz alcohol tend to give her, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle. She mingled around with Lucky— being introduced to people as they went along, Lucky couldn't help but to call Maia her girlfriend when she introduced her and the word had made butterflies flap around in her stomach. The two had never actually spoke about what they were, and the sudden confirmation eased a feeling inside Maia she didn't know she had until now.

Maia spoke to Valentina— the woman who was on her ER bed a few weeks ago with a gash the size of a credit card in her leg, she learned Lucky and the girl were first cousins and Valentina was considered a soldier amongst the mafia—it's pretty badass— which further explained her consistently wounded condition. She was clearly tough Maia thought, the girl was now telling a story of a time she took out a group of four men only coming out with a sprained wrist. Maia gasped at the idea of the slim girl fighting off men who were triple her in size— she wondered if Lucky had faced the same fate while engaged in the red heads story.

"There you went, I was beginning to wonder where you disappeared to" Lucky spoke from behind Maia snaking her hands around her waist. Maia leaned in to the strong hold of the girl— a blush creeping up her cheeks at the sudden touch of their skin. Lucky grabbed her arm spinning her around so they were now facing each other.

"There's someone who would love to meet you" Lucky grinned at the girl before she guided her to a older couple that resembled Lucky. Maia now knew where the blue eyes originated from, her father held the same icy blue orbs that enchanted Lucky's face. Maia stood in awe looking at how beautiful the girls parents were.

"You must be the beautiful Maia we hear so much about" the older woman spoke first— pulling the girl in for a hug and placing kisses on her cheeks, Maia had grown accustomed to the frequent touching from everyone she met, Italians were very affectionate and a kiss on the cheek was custom when meeting new faces. Maia smiled with the woman hearing how greatly Lucky spoke of her.

"Luci, she is indeed stunning" the older man spoke taking Maia in, doing the same as his wife just did greeting the girl placing kisses on her cheeks.

"I've heard just as much great things about you two as well" Maia spoke back a smile still apparent on her glossed lips. The four talked amongst themselves as Lucky's parents spoke of how Luciana was as a child always using her birth name avoiding the nickname she repeatedly minded them to use; Maia adored the girls name as it was fitting for a beautiful Italian stallion like her.

Maia shared how she was a trauma resident in the hospital— which gained oohs and ahs from the couple who stood before her, they were intrigued with the girl and how she had so much knowledge for her young mind. If it wasn't evident enough, Lucky's parents quickly grew fond of the woman Lucky held proudly on her hip. They understood Lucky's urge to want to be with the girl and happily accepted it.

The rest of the night was going by smoothly as Maia grew comfortable lingering around and chatting with the many faces she had just met, she couldn't believe that the family could be capable of unspeakable things and the thought of her being in the home of a mafia boss failed to cross her mind once.

Lucky found the girl again after being separated for moments, after being pulled off to talk to a few people who called her attention. Lucky's eyes were laced with lust when she was finally able to get her hands on Maia. Lucky placed soft kisses along the exposed skin of her collarbone, resulting in the girls skin prickling all over from the soft feel of Lucky's lips on her bare skin. The feeling turned her on as if Lucky had flicked a switch inside her.

"Let's get out of here" Lucky growled in Maia's ears pulling her off into a hall, disappearing from their spot in the midst of the dancing people. They approached a staircase that spiraled upwards leading to the second floor hallway, that was covered in beautiful paintings, and a few family photos. It felt like Maia was walking through a art gallery in a museum. Her eyes lingered the wall as she passed by them quickly— attempting to match the pace Lucky was speeding at with her long strides, and being in heels made it impossible causing her to whimper from the pain.
