He made it back to his room after his meeting with Dumbledore, passing through the common room where Theodore was still chatting with Draco and the others, so Alaxandr wouldn't be disturbed with what he was about to do. He made his way up to his room, grateful for the solitude and made his way to his desk, sitting down casually, turning on his lamp and finally reaching into his backpack and pulling out the black book. One thing did distract him though. The letters from his sister's he neglected to read. He put down the diary and picked up the envelope, peeling the paper back and pulling out the letter. It was a single piece of paper as he looked at it, realizing it was a letter with different parts written by his sisters. They each wrote their parts in different colors as a way of standing out amongst themselves. He wondered who's idea that was. The first to start things off was his eldest sister, her words in purple and the other in pink.

Dear little brother,

Home has been such a bore with you gone, and I can't begin to express how much your sisters and I miss you but I know how much you've been looking forward to attending Hogwarts. We never had the chance to experience what it's like to attend a school with so many like us around, so we're living vicariously through you in that regard. I hope all is well for you over there though I'm sure everyone already loves you. When you return home you must tell us of your time at school and all the little friends you made. Not to mention what that school offers when it comes to teaching you, versus what you learned back home, I'm curious to see the difference. Also, don't forget what father said, and remember your importance to the family Alaxandr. Hogwarts isn't a vacation, you're there to find those who would be wholly loyal to you.

Love, Victoria

The last bit from his sister brought thoughts to his head he wasn't trying to have. A little subtle reminder of what he was really here for. It was his sister's words, but his fathers voice. His eldest sister always held their families beliefs in high regard and would remind Alax of them whenever their father couldn't. It was a nauseating factor of his life that he thought Hogwarts would provide a brief escape from, but he should have known better. He adjusted the paper and focused on the next part, his sister Lucissa was more tamed then Victoria and he wasn't expecting to be berated in her part.

To my beloved little brother,

Hey Lexxie, it's been quite the change since you left. I have so many leftover prank spells that you neglected to sneak with you at Hogwarts, though I would suspect that mother and father forbade you to bring them with you. So far I've been trying to prank Vicky with them, but she sees through all of my tricks and counters them every time. It's left me peeved since I don't have you here to help me. You were always good at getting her to let her guard down, and with me, she always was cautious around, even before you were born. In other news, Isabella has been sad since you left, nothing too serious, she just misses her big brother, especially since you weren't here for her birthday, but she did like the gift you sent. She wanted to add in here thanking you and that she misses you greatly and loves you, sweet huh. Well anyway there's not much to talk about. We will all see you when the year is over.

Love, Lucissa and Isabelle

Alaxandr smiled as he finished the letter.

Lucissa always knew had to bring a smile to his face, the thought of the antics they pulled off back home like a fresh wave of nostalgia. His youngest sister had recently turned four and he could only imagine how she spent it. The short amount of joy he had while reading that letter was turned around when he focused on what he truly came here for.

He could feel a tingling in his hands as he gripped the book, a dark feeling overcoming him that felt like it would consume him if he let it.

His arms were covered in goosebumps, and he felt exhilarated from the coming engagement. He licked his lips, wiped the sweat that had built up off his forehead, and flipped to the first blank page. He took out his inkwell, and a fresh quill, dipping the feathered point into the black ink, and then finally writing his first words.
