By the time school is over, I'm racing out of the building. I see Stefan and Elena talking by his motorcycle and I wave before continuing, deciding to walk to the Salvatore house. As I make my way down the sidewalk, I turn my headphones down so I can at least hear if a car beeps. I make it past the school field and around the corner before I see Jeremy pull up next to me, slowly riding next to the curb.
"Hey, need a ride?" I laugh and nod, pulling off my headphones. "Yeah, just to Stefan and Damon's." Jeremy nods and waits for me to put my seatbelt on before pulling off. "I'm assuming the rest of classes didn't go that smoothly." I shake my head and stare out the window, looking at my reflection in the side mirror. "I'd rather not get into my day." He nods and tightens his grip on the steering wheel as he drives through the traffic.
"Thank you for earlier." I say, after a moment of quiet. "No problem." I smile and look over at him. "Jer, you're a good person. Stay this way, no matter what." He chuckles and looks over at me quickly before looking back at the road. "I don't plan on changing how I act anytime soon." "Good." I respond, leaning back in the chair and letting my eyes follow the trees.
Jeremy pulls into the driveway and puts his car in park. I grab my bag from the floor and mumble a 'thanks' before opening the door. Before I walk away, I turn and lean into the window. "Thanks for the ride, Jer." He smiles and nods. "You're welcome." I walk away and hear the gravel crunch as Jeremy drives off.
I sigh and tug on my bag strap, walking up the stairs. I grab the door knocker and just as my hand is about to hit the wood, the door swings open. Damon leans against the doorframe and asks, "Couldn't wait to see me again?" I roll my eyes and drily reply, "Oh yes Damon. You're all I think about during the day and I just needed to see you again."
He chuckles and moves out of the way so I can come in. I take off my sneakers and put them at the door, pulling my headphones from around my neck. Damon offers his hand and I give them to him. I laugh as he nods his head and plays air guitar even though there's nothing playing. He nods his head in his direction and I move closer to him. He wraps his arm around my shoulders and we walk into the living room, sitting on the couch.
"What do we want to do today?" I sigh and lean back into the cushions. "I would do just about anything to get out of my own head." Damon looks at me and I see him smirking from my peripheral vision. I glance up at him and ask, "What's that face for?" He shakes his head and comments, "I just wanted to know if you could do some of your witchy magic." I nod slowly, focus on my breathing and close my eyes.
I mutter the words that cause a paralysis spell, making sure that it's only from the neck down on Damon. After I finish the phrase, I let out a sigh and open my eyes. Damon's arching an eyebrow and asks, "What now?" I tug my sleeve up and say another spell that will open the cut I had on my arm last week. I grimace as my skin separates and the blood starts to run down my forearm.
"Feed on me." I watch Damon's eyes change and his fangs come out. He attempts to lurch forward and I see the confusion pass over his face. "KJ, I can't move." "I know." I answer, still holding my arm out. "How the hell did you do that?" "Magic." I answer. "You said you wanted me to do some of my witchy magic." "Yeah, like light something on fire by looking at it or levitating something across the room. Not paralyzing me!" I laugh and mutter the undoing words.
"Try it now." I say, nudging my head in his direction. Damon's hands move and he looks down at them, making his hands fists and then extending his fingers. His eyes are still blood red and his fangs are barely under his lips. I look down at my arm and bite the inside of my cheek. "I know you fed yesterday but I rushed you. Here, we don't have to worry about anything." Damon pulls me closer to him until my hands rest on his thigh.
I hold up my arm and he presses it to his mouth, letting his fangs sink into my arm. I draw my attention to my other arm, following the ivy and plants up my forearm. I should ink another piece on myself soon... I did always want to get my birthday in roman numerals. I think. Damon continues feeding on me and I squeeze my hand, tensing my muscles before letting them go.
After a while, Damon brings his head up. I take my hand and press my thumb gently to the skin under his eye as the veins vanish. His eyes change from their blood-red to their breathtaking blue and I drag my hand down to his lips, his fangs receding into normal canines. I brush my thumb across his lips and he moves closer to me. "I need you to heal yourself before this goes any further."
I press my lips together and focus on my arm, sealing the skin back until it becomes a faint scar and then nothing. I put my hands back on Damon's face and I mutter, "What are we even doing?" He shakes his head slightly and answers, "I don't know." I let my thumbs trace his cheekbones and his eyes sweep over my face. "Would you pop the blood vessels in my brain if I tried to kiss you right now?" I laugh and press my forehead against his. "Depends on how far we go."
Damon smirks before leaning in to press his lips against mine. I move my hands from his cheeks to around his neck and adjust myself so I'm straddling his waist. Our lips move in sync and my fingers rake through the hair on the back of his head. His hands hold my neck in place as his lips move from my mouth down to where my pulse is. I try to catch my breath as I reply, "I-I think you're getting into yellow flag territory." Damon laughs and kisses my neck. My head rolls back and his hands move from my neck, down my back, and stop at my waist.
I bring his lips up to meet mine and one of my hands reaches the small gap where his shirt rose above his pants. I drag my nails across his skin, starting with my pinky and letting each finger linger. Damon forces his lips from mine, grabbing my neck with one hand. "S-stop moving your hips like that." I shake my head and attempt to get up, muttering, "Sorry." Damon chuckles and pulls me back onto his lap hard, my hands flying into his chest.
"There's nothing to be sorry about. I just needed you to know that is what's gonna make me head into your red flag territory." I laugh and put my head on his shoulder, moving my arms to wrap around him. Damon's arms move from holding me against him and rest softly on my waist.
