34. APOLOGIES

I closed the door behind me as Adam entered my bedroom. My eyes fell on the person who stood in front of me who gazed at me with tears pooling his eyes.

My heart broke seeing him like this. The powerful, ruthless ceo standing there looking at me to believe me.

" Isabel baby please I just need to listen ......"

I placed my index finger on his lips to stop him from speaking any further.

" Shhh. You don't have to explain anything Adam. I believe you. I am sorry I left you in the office but I needed time." I said and took a deep breath. Adam's face cracked up into a full blown smile with tears brimming his eyes. He blinked his eyes to stop them from falling.

Adam wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. He kissed my head numerous times saying thank you. Adam pulled away a little but held me in his arms.

" Thank you so much baby. You don't know how worried I was when you ran away from my office without even letting me explain. I was so afraid you might have believed her and left me forever." He said as a single drop of tear ran down his cheek.

I raised my hand and wiped his cheek and smiled sweetly at him.

" I promised that I would never leave you Adam. I know that it took me some time to come to a conclusion. Please don't cry Adam I can't bear seeing you cry. " I chuckled as I say my last sentence.

He grinned like an idiot and placed his lips against mine and kissed me deeply.

" Thank you for believing in me. I love you so much." He said making my heart smile.

" I love you too." I said and pecked his lips.

" Can I ask you something?" He nodded his head.

" What's gonna happen to Jennifer? Is she really pregnant with your child." I whispered out.

Adam sighed and left my waist and dragged me towards the sofa which was on the far corner of the room.

He sat on it and pulled me to sit on his lap. Adam placed his head on my shoulder and wrapped his hands around my waist pulling me towards his chest.

" She is indeed pregnant. " My breath hitched hearing his statement.

" Isabel, look at me baby. " Adam cupped my cheeks and made me look directly into his eyes.

" Baby, she is pregnant but it's not my child. " He confessed making me take deep breaths to calm my nerves. I feel like something heavy was taken from my chest. I couldn't help but hug him tightly.

I broke out of the hug and smiled at him widely. I began peppering kisses all around his face.

" Do you know how troubled was I till now? I thought you will leave me for her and the baby." I said as tears rolled down my cheeks as I slightly hit his chest.

Adam cupped my face while I hiccuped looking at him .

" Isabel don't , don't in a lifetime think that I would leave you for another woman. You hear me that. Isabel you are my wife and you are stuck with me for this entire lifetime baby." I chuckled hearing his words as I blushed profusely.

" Aww. You look so cute while blushing. " Adam said as he pulled my cheeks earning a slap from me. He laughed at me and he pulled me tightly against him.
I laid my head on his chest hearing his heartbeat while he played with my hair.
We stayed like that for sometime embracing each other without exchanging any words.

I pulled away from him and looked upto see Adam leaning against the headrest with his eyes closed. He must be really exhausted, and within some time mom would call us for dinner. Before that I should wake him up so that he can freshen up.
