ADAM
As I entered the penthouse, I was greeted by an empty house. Confusion laced in me as I noticed the absence of Isabel. My first thought was that she left, so I quickly went to her room but I let out a sigh of relief when I saw were clothes there.
I checked the entire house but couldn't find her. So I called James, who I appointed as Isabel's bodyguard, but she isn't aware of it. He updated me about Isabel's activities when I was away. But much to surprise she hadn't left the penthouse after my departure.
James picked up at the first ring itself.
"James, where is Isabel right now?"
"Sir, who's Isabel?" He asked in a confusion tone and I suddenly remembered that I was the only one who called that.
"My wife, Andrea." I said snappy tone.
"Uhhh.. Sir, she is..." He stammered.
"James, I don't think twice before firing you. Just tell me where is Isabel currently." I yelled through the phone.
"Sir, she is currently with her friend Ms. Summers in Club Lime light." He said in a low tone. I ended the call. I immediately dialled Zac to accompany me to the club where Isabel went with her friend.
I know I have been an asshole to her from the first day but the truth was it was hard. She deserves much more than an asshole like me, like someone who will love her unconditionally. Unfortunately, that's not me. I am broken inside, but I masked it with my cold demeanour. I don't want her to broke the walls. I am scared that I might fall for her.
She is beautiful, smart, caring and talented, and she is not like other bimbos who is after my money. I still remember how I insulted her in my office so that she could back away from this marriage. No, but she fought for herself. She shoved away my credit card which I offer and snapped at me for insulting me. Not to mention she was the person who has ever offended me.
I recalled the moment when Jennifer introduced herself as my girlfriend, the lone tear which escaped from her eye made me regret. I hurt her by saying mean things while she only cared for me by bringing lunch for me in my office.
After leaving Isabel in my office I went with Jennifer to my car to have lunch. But my heart couldn't betray Isabel. How can I go and have lunch with other woman when my wife has prepared lunch and brought it to my office? So, I declined Jennifer's lunch date and went back to my office. I took long strides to reach my office before Isabel left. But much to dismay, she has already left my office. I noticed the bag which was placed in my table which contained the food she prepared.
I took a small bite from the chicken wrap and I was stunned because it was so delicious. I instantly felt hungry and finished it hurriedly. God, I haven't eaten such a delicious food in my entire life. Not that Emily is a bad cook, it's just that I mostly skip my meals.
My thoughts were interrupted by phone ringing. It was Zac calling me for informing that he is waiting for me outside.
I quickly went downstairs and noticed Zac sitting on the driver's seat drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. I opened the door and slide in the passenger seat. He started the car and we drove in silence until he opened his mouth to scold me.
" Adam care to explain why you leave your wife and leave for France?" He asked raising his voice.
"I had a business meeting." I said without looking at his face.
He scoffed. "You and your meeting. That couldn't moved or shifted?"
I shaked my head in no.
" Adam you are married now. You have a beautiful and caring wife. She is your priority now. She definitely doesn't deserve what you did to her. Just spend some time with her and you will realise how amazing she is." I was shocked to hear those words coming from his mouth. It's weird hearing those words from his. Because he has never defended anyone in front of me. It's the first.
