I stretched my hands up above my head to avoid the aching for sitting still in the floor for a long time. I was giving my painting a last minute touch up. Since I have an art exhibition next week, today is the only day that was left for painting. I started my work early morning that I even forgot to have my breakfast. And now it was time for lunch. I was famished. I look around my studio which was setup on my small apartment.I want to shift my paintings to the gallery where the exhibition is to be held within two days. It's gonna be a hectic week for me.I kept the last painting aside and got up.Actually it's my first ever art exhibition. And the money getting from this will be donated to charity.
I entered my bedroom laid on my bed for sometime.

I took my phone which was on the bedside table. There were few missed calls from my best friend Kate. Me and Kate are actually childhood friends. Our mothers were neighbours.
I dialed her number. After the second ring she picked up the call.
"Drea how dare you not pick up my call?" She literally roared on my phone that I pulled the phone away from my ear.
"I have been calling since morning. And where the hell have you been?"
"I am so sorry Kate. I was in the studio and my phone was in bedroom and it was on silent. I was just giving my painting a light touch up and I lost the track of time."I said with guilt.
She sighed."OK.You know that I cannot be mad at you for long." She muttered.
"How can I make it up for you?" I know that she will fall for that.
She was silent for sometime.
"OK. Meet me at our usual place."
I smiled remembering the small cafe which was just a few blocks from here where we usually meet.
"Yeah I will be there in 20 mins."
"Come fast or I will kill you." She threatened. I laughed and hung up. I strode towards the bathroom to take a shower since I didn't take one in the morning. After I dressed myself in a black crop top with a blue jeans along with a brown jacket.
