Adam.
My cheeks hurt smiling like a lunatic for the last two hours.
Isabel and our babyboy have shifted to a private room and since the room has been packed with our family and friends congratulating us.
Leander is currently in the arms of his grandmother who is gushing how cute her grandchild is.
Isabel's father shed a few tears as he took his grandson for the first time. When everyone was surrounded around the baby, Isabel laid on the hospital bed tired with her head resting on my shoulder with a contented smile as she witness the happiness of our family.
" Leander is an exact replica of Adam when he was born." My dad commented as he held my baby in his arms.
That's true eventhough Isabel give birth but he came out to be the replica of mine. We have the same deep ocean blue eyes, the same hair color and the only thing that resembles Isabel is their button nose.
" He reminds me of the time when you were born. I can't forget the look of Isabella when she first held you in her arms." My dad said as he blinked his eyes to prevent him from bawling out.
At the mention of my mother's name the entire hospital room became silent. Isabel's parents looked uncomfortable, Andrew was rather confused.
Leander cries echoed through the room breaking the awkward silence. Isabel's mother immediately took him in his arms and walked towards the bed.
Isabel took Leander in her arms carefull as he was crying out loud probably because of hunger.
" Let's leave Matt. Drea must be tired from the labor she needs rest. " Gianna, Isabel's mother said to her husband while he nodded his head agreeing.
" Take care of yourself, my baby. We will come tomorrow morning to check up on you." She said and pecked my wife's forehead.
My wife nodded her head. Andrew came and bid his goodbye promising that he would bring Mia and Axel on his next visit. Mia couldn't come with Andrew because Axel had a slight fever so Mia has to stay behind.
Jake and my father also departed after wishing us.
After everyone left, Isabel fed our baby as I sat beside her looking at my son who was getting breastfed. He was staring at me with deep ocean blue eyes and I chuckled at his curious eyes. I gently stroke his head and in a while he dozed off. I held him and patted his back in order to burp.
I gently placed him in the crib beside Isabel's bed as I stared at my beautiful son's face who was sleeping without a care in this world. I can't digest the fact that I have become a father. One year before now I didn't had a purpose in my life. But now I have. To be a dad to this wonderful human being. Protect him from all the evil hands in this world, love him to the core.
" Are you disappointed that your father mentioned about your mother?" Isabel's voice brought me out of my reverie.
I turned towards my wife who was leaning against the bed. Walking towards her I adjusted her to a sleeping position.
" I am not sad." I said as I took a seat beside her in the bed.
" It's just that it's a sensitive topic for me." I explained to her.
She held my hand and kissed my palm.
" Are you happy?" She questioned.
" More than anyone else. " She smiled hearing my reply.
" Thank you for coming into my life and giving me a son. I couldn't ask for anything else. You saved me, Isabel. I can't thank you enough for choosing me and staying with me eventhough I did horrible things to you." I confessed as I held her hands in mine.
