Dylan Knight stared at the man in front of him. He was unsure of what he heard.
A partnership?
Seriously after all these years of rivalry he is proposing a partnership. Has he gone delusional ? He was sure that Matthew Jefferson is up for something. Otherwise he wouldn't be known as the cunning business man in New York.
Matthew Jefferson was sitting impatiently in front of his enemy since years to know his decision on the merging of their companies. Its for sure Dylan must be thinking he has gone mad. But its not the reason that he had come to Knight Industries as early as the sun rise. Nor he wanted to have revenge. There is a hidden secret that nobody known not even his darling wife.
After sometime Matthew took the opportunity to break the silence.
"So are you ready Dylan ?"
Dylan sighed. " Why are you doing this Matthew? I know we have been rival for a decade or two. Then why a partnership after all these years. Do you want to take revenge? Then I am sorry to burst your bubble. I am not ready for a partnership." He said calmly.
Matthew listened carefully. " You can interpret it in any way you can Dylan. But I am not here to take revenge or something. If it was my ambition then I would have done it even before that. I know that you don't believe me but accept this proposal you will thank me for later."
"Okay. But what I will tell Adam and Jake about it?"
"Tell that the Jefferson Empire is going through a rough time and you are giving me a helping hand."
"But we have been rivals for more than twenty years. Don't they doubt?"
"We were friends in high school. A friend in need is a friend indeed." Matthew smiled.
Dylan couldn't help but smile with his childhood friend.
They stood up and both embraced other and did their handshake.
"To new beginnings."
