Jade POV

Me and Jack went to Tooth's for a little celebration party for our victory in the fight. Jack was really stubborn, he didn't want to attend it. I told him that it would be rude if he doesn't come, in fact, he's one of the Guardians. He should come. It would be rude if he didn't.

I was pretty glad he decided to go though. But he kept his face sour along the way to the palace.

"Welcome! Come on in, everyone's almost here," Tooth greeted and smiled as we appeared in front of the doorway of the large palace.

"Thanks," Me and Jack stepped inside the white room, filled with vacant seats and a long table filled with food. Whoa. Food.

"At least they have food." I heard Jack mumble under his breath.

I chuckled as Jack leisurely walked to the table where all the food lay. I followed at his heels.

Jack POV

I could feel Jade watching my every move; Small and graceful footsteps moved from behind me. I made my way to the luxurious table;

Though I'm not hungry, (I'm never hungry.) I still needed food, I crave the taste and texture; (I sound professional.) Cravings, not hunger.

Anyhow, as I reached the table, the first thing I reached for was the plate. I casually took it- it was a party anyway- and moved on to get my choice of food. I grabbed the apple from the near fruit basket, putting it on the plate.

I helped myself with hamburgers, taking two of them. Hey- maybe Jade wants one? Speaking of Jade...

I spun around slightly. Jade wasn't behind me anymore. Oh well, maybe she's enrolling on her very own party mode. I don't know if she even has one, but... Though, I couldn't imagine Jade dancing her feminine arse up on the dance floor with any other guy. I just couldn't.

After piling up plenty of food on my plate- which looks like a mountain of food right now. Splendid.- I searched for any signs of Jade.

I instantly spotted her shiny dark red hair, resting in waves on her back. She had her back to me, sitting on the comfy looking sofa face to face with some other unknown beings. It seems like they're having a cheerful conversation.

I made my way to the place carefully, cautious so that the food pile won't topple. As soon as the person Jade was talking to spotted me, she nudged Jade by her arm.

I casually took a seat beside Jade, which was vacant;

"Don't tell me you're eating all of that," I heard Jade say as I placed the plate on my lap, propping my staff beside me.

"Of course not. Brought this hamburger for you." I pointed out, grinning as her laugh rang throughout the extravagant lounge. She merely tucked her front hair to behind her ear before turning to me.

"Thanks, then," She said, half-laughing.

"Pleasure." I took a bite out of my apple. My mouth made a scrunching sound as I chewed the apple thoroughly.

I turned my attention to Jade and the person she's talking to. I stopped chewing as they brought up an unpleasurable topic up.

"Hm. I see that Aqua's not present." The stranger said. Jade fell to silence for a moment.

"Yes... But I think he's just running a little late though." Jade stated after a long lapse.

"Poor kid who had his bond broken." The stranger said and took a sip out of her drink. I started chewing frantically and nudged Jade's hip.

"He had his bond broken?" I mouthed, swallowing the chewed apple. Jade nodded before turning back her attention to the stranger again. I took another huge bite of my apple as Jade leaned to me and whispered;

"By the way, this is Cupid."

Yet again, I stopped chewing. Cupid?

"Cupid, as in, the love fairy?" I whispered back, Jade nodded.

I studied Cupid. She had a blonde hair and a quite strict face. She was wearing a pink pencil skirt and a pink blazer, a white long sleeved shirt underneath it. Translucent, sparkly wings stuck to her backside.

Quite businesslike for such a lovey fairy. And not the Cupid I'd expected. I thought Cupid was a baby boy - naked except for his private parts which is covered with some kind of underwear. You know, the Cupid that uses a bow to shoot some arrows to someone's butt to make them fall inlove.

"It was horrible. Everyone was scared that water elementor would go weak." Cupid continued her story about Aqua's broken bond.

Jade bowed down slightly, fiddling with her fingers.

"When the girl breathed out her last life, he'd gone limp. Everyone was just- shocked. And when he woke up again everyone was amazed. He should've-"

"Why didn't he die?" I blurted out, cutting off Cupid from her talking. Cupid just smiled at me and continued.

"Well, his mate was human; She can't go to the dawn of immortality like we all did. She made a mistake- a mistake so big the Man in Moon resetted his wish to immortalize her."

I pulled out a confused face before she continued.

"Aqua had only met her once. Once- and thats it. He barely saw and remember her whole face- let alone her body. So when his mate died of age without him even knowing she was his mate; He almost died. Almost."

Jade took over. Half of her body facing me.

"Because people never believed in him; His absence wouldn't endanger the others. He couldn't die- He didn't fall inlove with her. But he just went weak for a few months. It was the effect of the human girl's death."

"So he couldn't die because he didn't know who his mate was?" I asked, slightly amazed. Jade nodded and shifted. "Its less unfortunate than the recent case we faced," Cupid said. "Jade- She almost died. If she had, her death will drag us to jeopardy. You would die along too,"

Cupid gestured to me.

"People believe in Jack Frost, Guardian of Fun."

"Makes sense." Jade chuckled.

I stared at my half bitten apple. Aqua almost died?
