"What happened?" I ask when Rick comes in with blood on his knuckles and face. They both went with Tyreese to assess the bodies.

Hershel sits Rick down, tending to his hands. "This will be sprained for at least a week."

Daryl pulls me outside. He stares intently at my face, his face unreadable. "Why did you do it?"

"Daryl, I–"

He shakes his head, pacing. "Do you understand the shit you've just thrown yourself into? That you've thrown me into? Tyreese is out for blood."

"How did you know I did it?" I ask lowly, looking around us, spotting no one.

"I know your tracks, Lil. They're in my memory for life. I know you didn't act alone. You better hope they don't snitch on you."

"So you're not going to tell Rick?"

He glares. "I should."

"So no."

"I don't know why you've done a lot of things, same with Rick, but they've always been for the good of the group. I'm not going to question this one either."

A meeting is called, reporting that the virus has spread now, including Sasha and Dr. S.

Hershel starts. "Cellblock A is isolation now. We keep the sick people there like we tried to with David and Karen."

"Yeah, what the hell we gonna do about that?" Daryl asks, glancing slyly at me.

Carol doesn't miss a beat. "Ask Rick to look into it. Try to make a timeline of everyone's whereabouts. But what are we going to do to stop this."

"There is no stopping it," the doctor responds. "You get it, you have to go through it."

"But it kills you," Michonne adds.

"Not the illness. The symptoms do. We need antibiotics."

"We've been through every pharmacy nearby while preparing for Cash's birth. And then some."

"That veterinary college at West Peachtree Tech. That's one place people might've not thought of raiding. The drugs for animals are the same ones we need."

"That's 50 miles," Daryl adds grudgingly. "Too big a risk before, ain't now. I'm going to take a group out."

"We need to separate the vulnerable," Hershel says as we all stand up. "The very young."

I pack up Cash and my belongings before I start looking for Tiff. I find Ashley in her cell with Milly.

"Have you seen your cousin?"

Ashley shakes her head. "Not since breakfast. She said she wasn't hungry and went off with Lizzy."

Fuck. "Lizzy was brought to the isolation ward." I hand over Cash before rushing to the other cellblock where the sick are. Glenn notices me at the windows. He must've gotten ill too. This is spreading too fast.
