Lilly Watkins has always been the strong one compared to her twin. That doesn't change when the dead start walking. Taking care of her family during the apocalypse, she never relied on anyone else. When she meets Daryl Dixon, a more temperamental pe...

The next morning, we're moved out of Hershel's house and into tents, him into his own and me with my family. Marie takes over fussing over me and occasionally checking in on the neighborhood redneck. He fights off her visits each time.
"Leave me in peace, woman!" he shouts without looking as I unzip the tent.
"That's a bit rude, Daryl. I'm injured."
"Oh, it's just you." He sighs, sitting up a bit. He's shirtless and I notice that both of our torso's bruising look similar. He is definitely the worse one of the both of us.
"I came to check on you. We basically fell down a mountain."
"It was a hill."
"Don't minimize my pain dammit!" I scold him, taking a seat across from him. I grimace in pain at the effort.
"Ye okay?"
"Fine," I manage out.
"Liar."
"That makes two of us, doesn't it?"
He looks away, playing with a bolt in his hand. "Andrea apologized."
"I'll still hate her."
"I know. Women hold grudges."
I stand up, dusting myself off. "Well, clearly you're fine so I'm leaving."
"Like I said. Grudges."
The next day, I feel even better, sitting outside with the others and eating eggs. Daryl does the same silently, twitching uncomfortably at the sympathetic gazes following him.
"The barn is full of walkers," Glenn says and I laugh, wondering if he's had a bit too much to drink. When nobody else does the same, I realize it must be true. Together, after breakfast, we head down to the barn to assess the situation.
"Oh shit, there are definitely Walkers," I mutter, pushing Ashley further back.
"We either gotta go in there and make things right or we just gotta go," Shane says and I agree with him.
"We can't leave," Rick says.
"Why not?"
"My daughter is still out there," Carol chimes in.
Shane groans. "Okay, I think it's time that we all just consider the other possibility."
"We are not leaving Sophia," Rick says as Carol starts to become hysterical behind him.
"I'm this close to finding this girl! I just found her doll a few days ago!" Daryl screams at him.
"You found her doll, Daryl. That's what you did, you found a doll."
"What if she's in the barn?" I chime in, causing the group to go silent. "We need to clear it."
"Lilly—" Rick starts but I put my hand up to shush him.
