I love the tone that's in your laugh

Gasping for an extra breath

Waiting for the time to pass

I believe in days ahead

Don't spend another night alone

Cross and wishing you were dead.

The water tickled her feet. Y/N was glad to be here again - on the coast. Everything wasn't as she imagined. Her life was complete madness. She wondered if she could ever stop worrying. And... will it all end... Will peace be able to come... For a whole year, she worked together with Historia, Sasha and others to resolve the overdue conflict. Nobody wanted war anymore. But... there was only a people who were under the delusion that mass destruction was the only way out. She regularly wrote letters to Jean, and he regularly answered her. She knew that on the other side of the ocean, her former friends were also working towards this goal. It calmed her down. The thought that at least this time she had like-minded people calmed her down.

Most of the time she spent in the Capital, but the last month she lived in Shiganshina, along with Mikasa. Since she helped Levi heal, he has become more optimistic about everything around him, and has begun to help Historia as well. His knowledge of how things used to be, of what they went through, influenced the opinions of some. Everyone knew perfectly well what he was, what he achieved. And many were still afraid of him, which amused Y/N. With his help, the council finally agreed that it was necessary to negotiate and try to resolve the situation without military action.

Y/N kept thinking about their conversation with Mikasa. About a way to keep living. Then, she said all this without thinking a little, but now, thinking about the options, she didn't think that all this was so bad. She understood that her relationship with Levi had long since become «different». She hadn't been a girl for a long time, and he hadn't treated her like a child for a long time. They had been through a lot together, and she saw it as the logical outcome for both of them. She saw him as her only way out. Way out of eternal loneliness. Next to him she felt comfortable, she was calm. Though her heart didn't flutter, her stomach didn't have butterflies like it did with Armin, but She thought that maybe the fact that she had confidence in him was the most important thing. She knew that he would be with her until she herself wanted it to be otherwise. She knew that he was devoted to her as a friend. That he has no one closer to her. They were both memories for each other of what had happened to them over the years. Ten years... She had known him for ten years... Did she love him? Loved, but... in her own way. Not the way she would like to. Not the way he deserved it. But that's all they had.
