Chapter 19 - Hiding in the shadows

They came to a small house in the forest where they had been hiding for the last few days. After they left Ehrmich, a lot happened: they met up with their friends at Utgard Castle. Then it was discovered that Ymir - Historia's friend - also has the ability to turn into a titan. No one knew about this, even Reiner and Bertholdt looked really surprised, although they were the ones who were suspected of collaborating with Annie Leonhart. For Ymir it wasn't a surprise, as for Eren - she clearly knew what she was doing. Having received serious injuries, after battle at the Utgard she was unconscious. Then, when they all arrived at Wall Rose, chaos ensued. Armin was right about Reiner and Bertholdt - they got into a fight with the scouts and Eren, and as a result - they kidnapped Eren and Ymir and headed towards the Wall Maria - in the lands infested with titans. The scouts went after them a few hours later, as many were wounded and they were waiting for reinforcements.

Heading after them, the scouts encountered more than just resistance from Reiner. Ymir kidnapped Historia and betrayed her comrades by taking the side of Reiner and Bertholdt. No one understood why she did this. Also, the scouts «met» with the Beast titan, which in some unknown way summoned many titans, which greatly complicated the task. As a result, a lot of Garrison soldiers died, who supported the side of the scouts. On the part of the scouts, almost the entire Survey corps participated in the battle. And very few survived. Commander Erwin lost his arm. But, they managed to get Eren and Historia back.

Upon their return to the Wall Rose, they were all stationed at the Garrison Headquarters near the Wall Rose. News has come out about the true nature of the titans that have appeared behind Wall Rose. It was still a theory - but, as Hange suggested, it's possible that the Beast titan somehow affected the inhabitants of the village Ragako, and as a result they turned into titans. This came as a shock to everyone, especially Connie, who himself was from Ragako.

Then the military police put Eren and Historia on the wanted list. Then the Commander distributed all the remaining guys from the 104th Cadet Corps to the Levi's squad, and sent them to hide. Hange remained with Commander Erwin, who was still recovering from his wounds. As they learned later - Hange brought them news - Erwin went to Trost, where one of the headquarters of the military police was located. He's easily held accountable for the losses suffered behind the Wall Rose, as well as for the fact that his «people» escaped with Eren and Historia.

And now, they all huddled in a small cabin in the forest, waiting for the next news. When Hange arrived, they did various tests with Eren. Armin and Mikasa were now present as Hange needed help.

Armin and Jean were returning from the place of transfer of provisions. They entered the cabin, where another cleaning was going on in full.
