FEW HOURS LATER

"Y/N, you gotta stop drinking." Jessica said.

It's been a few hours since Y/N left her granny's house. She didn't go home or went back to her dad's house, she went to a bar. It just so happens that her ex-wife was at the same bar, drinking with her friends.

Y/N shook her head, "Relax. I'm not even drunk." She said.

"I know, but you're about to get drunk." Jessica said, "Don't listen to your mom, okay? All she does is hurt you. You have a lot of people who love and care for you. Your grandmother, your friends, me, and your dad, you know how much your dad loves you, Y/N."

Y/N looked at Jessica, "I know."

Jessica sighed, she cupped Y/N's cheek, smiling softly. "Don't let her win. You're here, alive and you got people around you that loves you. And your dad, you know you're his life."

At that, Y/N smiles. "I know."

"Good." Jessica said, smiling. "Now, let's get you home, so you can sober up and call your dad."

"It's fine, I can still drive. Stay here with your friends, I already took most of your time." Y/N said, shaking her head.

Jessica gently patted Y/N's cheek, "It's okay. I want to make sure you'll get home safe."

Y/N chuckled, she stood up and looked down at Jessica. "I'm okay. I'm going to my dad's. Thank you, Jess. For everything."

Jessica smiles, "It's nothing. Drive safely, okay?"

Y/N nodded her head, "Don't get drunk, Chastain. Take care of yourself."

"Always, L/N." Jessica said, smiling.

— after some time of driving, Y/N finally made it to her dad's house. She drove around for a while, just clearing her head. She hates the fact that her mom's words still affect her. But then, that's just her mom, she always knows what to say or do to hurt her. But if she's being honest, what she learned today was confusing.

"Dad?" She called out once she stepped inside the house. His dad is rich because he owns restaurants and five-star hotels, but his house is small, simple, and very cozy. And she grew up there.

"Here, sweetheart!" She heard her dad.

Y/N walked towards the living room and smiled as soon as she saw her dad, drinking beer and watching some movies.

"Hey, dad." Y/N greeted, she sat down next to her dad and kissed his cheek.

"Hey, kid." Y/F/N smiles, "How was it?"

Y/N took a deep breath, "The usual. But um... mom told me something." She said.

"What did she say?" Y/F/N asked, pausing the movie and giving his full attention to his daughter. "Are you okay? Did she hurt you?" He asked, frowning.

"She didn't hurt me—not physically," Y/N bit her bottom lip and sighed. "We were arguing and um... long story short, she said that she never wanted me. She said that you guys got drunk one time and you got her pregnant, she wanted to abort me but then granny found out and the rest is history." She said. "I mean... I guess I can't be mad at her for wanting to abort me, it's her body, it should be her choice... but I'm here, aren't I?"

"She said that?" Y/F/N frowned.

"Yeah," Y/N nodded her head. "You know about that, dad?" She asked.

Y/F/N sighed. "Yeah. She didn't tell me anything when I asked her to marry me. And when I found out, that's when I asked for a divorce. I told her that if she only told me anything, I wouldn't asked her to marry me in the first place. I wouldn't trapped her in a marriage she didn't want. But I made it clear that I wouldn't have let her abort my child. It's mine too and I want to raise my child. If I only know that she never wanted any of this, I would've just asked for the baby and she'll be free after that." He said.

Y/N sighed and looked away from her dad, "When you guys got divorced, she fought for a joint custody, and I asked her why she did that... and she said she wanted to hurt me, she wanted to punish me. I just... I don't understand, dad. She had a chance to actually live her life the way she wanted to, but she chose to punish me instead."

Y/F/N pulled his daughter n a hug. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. This is my fault too, if only I know everything, then it would've been just you and me from the start. I'm sorry," He said and pulled away, he cupped Y/N's face and made her look at him, "But don't think for a second that you're never wanted, okay? The day that I found out that I'm gonna be a father, it was the best day of my life. I was so happy. And when I first saw you and held you, I swore to myself that I'll do anything and everything for you. You filled my life with joy and love. You are my life, Y/N. You'll forever be my life."

Y/N sniff, wiping her tears. Then she hugged her dad, "I love you, dad."

Y/F/N smiled and kissed his daughter's head. "I love you more, kid."

Y/N sighed, smiling a little. She'll never understand her mom's reasons, but at least she's got her dad by her side, always there for her and loves her with all his heart. That's enough for her, besides, it's always been her and her dad. And no matter what happens, that will never change.
