NEXT DAY

Y/N looked at her dad, "Wake up already, dad. I'm scared." She whispered.

She didn't get any sleep, she didn't even go home. She just stayed with her dad, the doctor said that it was a bad accident, and they aren't sure when he'll wake up or if he'll ever wake up. And that scares Y/N so much, she doesn't want to lose her dad. Especially with the same way that she lost her grandparents.

"I'm so scared of everything, dad. I need you." Y/N said, crying. She held her dad's hand and said, "I'm just so broken right now, dad. I need you here with me. Please."

With everything that's been happening in her life right now, Y/N can't afford any more pain. It's getting too much to handle. Just when she thought it would be better soon, life decided to surprise her and mess her up again.

Y/N was brought back to reality when she heard the door open, she immediately wiped her tears and stood up, facing whoever came in. As soon as she saw who it was, she frowned.

"What're you doing here?" Y/N asked.

"Good morning to you too, dear." Y/M/N said, raising an eyebrow at her daughter. "What're you wearing?"

"Suit from Gucci." Y/N said and rolled her eyes. "Look, mom, I don't have energy to argue with you, okay? Please, just leave." She said.

Y/M/N looked at her ex-husband behind her daughter, then at Y/N. "You haven't gone home from your premiere night?"

Y/N sighed, "I couldn't. I don't want to leave my dad alone." She said.

"Go home, child." Y/M/N said. "Get some... rest. You look awful."

"I told you, mom, I'm not leaving my dad alone. What are you even doing here?" Y/N asked.

"Your granny has a soft spot for your dad, and she wants me to come here and check on him to make sure he's okay. And also to know if you are okay." Y/M/N answered Y/N's question. "And... I see that you're a mess right now. So, since I'm here anyway, you should go home. Get some sleep. I'll call you if anything comes up." She said.

"I don't trust you." Y/N said, shaking her head. "I'm staying right here."

Y/M/N rolled her eyes. "I'm not gonna kill your dad, Y/N. I'll stay here while you rest, I'll make sure he's okay." She said.

Y/N frowned, studying her mom's face.

"Oh for god's sake, child." Y/M/N said and rolled her eyes. "I'm not that evil. Go on, shoo, get out of here before I make you." She said, raising an eyebrow.

"Fine," Y/N said, "But I'm coming back in two hours—"

"Two hours? What the hell are you gonna do when you get home? Shower, sleep for a few minutes, and then come back here? You've been working hard for your movie, if you don't get a proper rest, your body will give up on you." Y/M/N said, raising an eyebrow while crossing her arms.

"And since when did you care?" Y/N asked, frowning. "You're planning something bad, I know it."

"Well, shit, kid." Y/M/N chuckled. "I'm really the root of your trauma, huh?"

"Oh, mother, you finally figured it out." Y/N said, and scoffed.

"Listen here, child, I know what I did to you and your father, okay? I resented both of you because I didn't live my life the way I always wanted to. I had dreams, but I got pregnant, causing me to forget about them. And I know I've never really been a mother to you, and I'm not saying that I'll start now because that's too late, and I still hate you and your father—just a little bit. What I'm trying to say is that I still married your dad, I still birthed you. Looking after your dad right now won't be a problem, I won't hurt him or do anything to harm him. Just go home, get some proper rest, then come back before your granny kills me, okay? Don't be stubborn now." Y/M/N said.

Y/N looks at her mom for a second before she releases a deep breath. "Okay, fine. I'll rest and then come back. But you have to promise me that you'll call me if anything bad happens."

"I promise." Y/M/N said, "Wanna pinky swear?" She asked, waving her pinky finger.

Her pinky swear came from her mom. The reason she doesn't hate it and actually uses it until now is because it's the only thing that makes her mom stick to her words. Like whenever they would go somewhere and meet people for stuff and little Y/N needed to be in her best behavior and not throw tantrums, her mom would pinky swear that she wouldn't hurt her and would read her bedtime story if she behaved well.

"I'm not a kid anymore, mom." Y/N said, rolling her eyes. But of course, she still uses the pinky swear if she wants to promise something serious. Her mom doesn't have to know that, though. She grabbed her jacket and hung it on her shoulder.

"I know, but I also know that it'll make you feel better if we pinky swear." Y/M/N said.

Y/N sighed, shaking her head. But she locked her pinky finger with her mom's.

"I pinky swear that I'll look after your dad." Y/M/N said, kissing her thumb.

"And I pinky swear that I'll get proper rest." Y/N said, kissing her thumb. Then she pulled her hand away, stepping back.

Y/M/N just smirked, "Go on, little child. I'll call if anything happens."

Y/N just nodded her head. Then she kissed her dad's forehead, "I love you, dad. I'll come back later." She whispered.

Y/M/N hummed, watching the scene in front of her.

Y/N stood up straight, then she looked at her mom and nodded her head before she walked away. She's really exhausted—physically and emotionally exhausted. She just hopes that her dad will be okay soon. That's all she wants at the moment—for her dad to wake up.
