6:15 a.m., Amy walks out of the hospital, blinking in the streetlight. She shivered in the cold morning but took a deep breath. For the next two days she would be away from the smell of medical disinfectants and disease. She loved what she was doing and the studies she was undertaking, but she was human and sometimes she was fed up with pain and death. She joined her small car quickly and slipped behind the wheel. There, Amy just wanted to go home, find her boyfriend and let herself be pampered by him. She had been in the emergency room for a month, but that was it. 48 hours of rest then back to school. Another more months... no, just a few more months and it would be over! She would officially graduate. Amy chuckled as she turned on the engine, letting it run long enough to defrost her windshield. The month of February had started well and was almost coming to an end.

Valentine's Day was nothing memorable because she was busy and so was Marc. She had found a bouquet of flowers and a breakfast tray when she got home, on her kitchen table. She had left a teddy bear holding a heart on the small coffee table in Marc's living room. He lived by day, she lived by night. They were only passing each other but it didn't matter because it ensured their future for both of them. Amy blew on her fingertips, then turned on the radio. She smiled as she recognized the lyrics to the Red Pandas' first single. The young woman hummed it as she left the parking lot. The single had been out for ten days and she heard it at least every two hours. Their success was dazzling. She was so proud of him! She was dating a famous man! She chuckled in satisfaction in her little car. She glanced at the passenger seat. She had been able to escape yesterday to buy the latest magazines with the group's interviews and was looking forward to reading them when she was quiet at home.

Amy looked at the clock. Maybe she could run into Marc and share a little half an hour with him? How long had it been since she had woken up near him? And that they had made love? She mentally counted.

- A month ?!

It must be said that with work, she came home so tired... For a fleeting moment she had the image of the young intern in oncology. It's true that he was cute and always had a smile on his face and a kind word. She had the right to watch? that wasn't why she was going to do anything anyway. She already had enough to do with Marc. Marc and his big hands with long, skilful fingers. Marc and his greedy mouth. Marc and his dream body... who would have thought that a man as sexy as him would find a girl like her to his liking? Well, it wasn't all rosy because he was moody, jealous and possessive and so clingy! But he treated her like a queen... and then it was the life of a couple to make compromises! It was on this thought that she parked in the parking lot of her residence. She grabbed her laundry bag, magazines and purse and shivered as she left the car.

She made a detour to her apartment to drop off her belongings and then crossed the entire hallway to reach Marc's apartment. When she opened the door, everything was silent. Amy chuckled and headed into the bedroom, happy to surprise him. Yet she stopped before pushing the door open. Something in the air bothered her. It was however subtle but it seemed that a perfume floated there. She shook her head and reasoned with herself. Valentine's Day was not that old and she had noted the impressive number of packages in the living room. Surely a fan had offered him perfume. Amy grimaced. It was obvious that the fans did not know him. Marc liked cold and woody scents with a hint of spice... this fragrance was too fruity and sweet. Well, it was disturbing...like when he'd come back from Gavin's with her scent. Amy continued her way into her boyfriend's room. He slept on his back, one arm tucked under the pillow and the other outstretched as if waiting for someone to lie against him. She smiles. It would be so easy to slip into his arms... nevertheless she decided to sit next to him to caress his forehead and kiss him. He growled and sighed.

- The alarm clock hasn't rung yet...

He fumbled, his eyes still closed, rolled onto his side and buried his face in Amy's stomach while wrapping his arms around her hips. He froze.
