Marc's first day in the hospital was both long and short. Gavin had to leave him to go back to work, his mother stayed a bit but left in the middle of the morning since she had spent the night watching over him. The morphine prevented the pain from setting in but cleared his mind. He could not concentrate more than five minutes on a subject. He was so tired! This physical and mental state made him mope and frustrated. He hadn't been able to answer the inspectors' questions clearly because he couldn't remember. It terrified him and no matter how much the doctors told him it was normal, it was his mind's way of coping with the trauma, it didn't take away the scary side of having lost a bit of memory. He slept most of the time but never for long. He woke with a start with the phantom pain of the knife in his stomach. Marc couldn't even remember his state of mind at that moment. The pain, the fear... and Gavin. He had to be able to concentrate. Would Gavin end their relationship to protect him? Already his manager didn't want to put a name to what they were to each other so maybe his injury was going to make him realize he didn't want to be with him anymore? If Gavin really left him, what would become of him? Just the thought took his breath away and freaked out the sensors attached to him.

The nurse arrived in stride worried, took care of him, took care of his comfort and gave him his tablets which stunned the singer until his next awakening, two hours later in a still gloomy state of mind. The thoughts swirled around in his head and collided without his really being able to grasp them, leaving him in a nauseous state of mind. Could he afford to vomit with a stomach wound? and eat or drink? All the unanswered questions terrified him. Night fell. Lying in the dark, eyes wide open Marc was anxious and his head was filled with "What if...". He felt the tears welling up in his eyes and...his phone vibrated. He jumped and winced in pain. He opened the video app to see Gavin's tired but smiling face appear. His heart swelled.

— Baby, it's you...

"Hello Marc."

Marc saw the smile and Gavin fade and his eyebrows furrow. Gavin gave him a worried look.

" Everything is fine ? »

Marc sniffled back his tears.

— Now that I see you, yes.

Gavin sighed and smiled again.

"I will come by tomorrow to see you, I miss you"

— You too baby. I want to go back home.

Gavin smiled at his lover's sulky face.

"You need to stay a few more days."

Marc sighed tragically.

— I know well. Tell me about your day. Have you found the...

" No not yet. Tomorrow I will hold a press conference. We are all worried for you and the fans even more. You know how they are. »

— They're adorable. Tomorrow, I'll send you a little clip to let them know I'm fine.

"No, you're not well. I never want this to happen to you again! »

Marc broke down.

— Nope ! No I don't want you to leave me! It's not your fault ! I can't do it if you're not with me! I love you !

Gavin's eyes widened at Marc's growing restlessness.

"Marc...Marc calm down...sweetheart, I...but what was going through your mind to think that I want to leave you?" Do you want to leave me, do you? »

Marc tried to straighten up but failed in a painful grimace.

— Nope ! Absolutely not ! I will never leave you. I want us to stay together as long as possible... no matter what.
