I try my best to keep up with Tris as we walk but the pain coming from my back and my torso doesn't allow me.
'Tobias, are you alright?'
I nod, slowing to a halt.
'I fell this morning and my legs aren't really letting me keep up. I'm sorry, Tris'
For having to lie to you. I'm sorry for, even after yesterday, not telling you the truth. I'm sorry that you're friends with me when you could do so much better. I'm sorry.
'It's alright, we can slow down. There's a bench over there, do you want to take a seat?'
I nod, not meeting her gaze. What am I supposed to do? I can't keep lying to her. I sure as hell can't tell her the truth. I don't know.

I throw away the empty beer bottle and head to my car. I'm not starting again it's just I couldn't sleep well these past few days and I'm starting to miss my looseness. I get in my car and start driving to the university, I can't go home with beer breath. Marcus will start asking questions and he'll think that I can't be trusted. I mean last time he cracked me down to the core, he took my keys and didn't let me drive anywhere. He even tracked my card to make sure I wasn't going into any pubs. Besides, if he thinks I've started drinking again, it'll just add to his stress and that would result in Tobias being... he can't think I've started again.
I've got it under control, no one needs to know. Not Cara, not Marcus, not even Tobias.

'Are you in a lot of pain?' Tris looks at me with a worried look. Something tells me she knows the truth, but I can't be sure. At least with this question I don't have to lie.
'Actually, yes. I can't really do anything about it though, I guess I'll just have to rest it off.'
She gives me a look. Like she wants to say something but doesn't know how. I just hope it's not what I think it is.
Finally, after a few more minutes of silence, she looks up and starts talking.
'Listen, Tobias, I know this is ridiculous but... Look I just can't stop thinking about it and I need to ask you something very personal.' She looks at me for my consent to go on. There's no way around it. I know what she's going to ask. I nod. 'Does Marcus-'
She's interrupted by a nasal voice coming from behind.
'Beatrice?'
Tris p.o.v.
Caleb! I was just about to ask him too, why must my brother ruin everything.
'What are you doing here, Caleb?' I have to be polite to him in front of Tobias when I really want to say leave Caleb.
