"How does the wand feel Harry?" Hermione curiously looks at Harry who holds onto his new wand after his previous one was broken in half by Bellatrix. Harry waves the wand around to feel the weight. He then casts a spell towards the forbidden forest. Harry looks over to Hermione with a small smile and a nod.

"It's not my old wand but it's just as good." Harry murmurs as he lowers his eyes to the wand in his fingertips. "Where are the others?" Raising his attention back to Hermione, the two are sitting outside of Hagrid's Hut. It's the night before the big war. Hagrid is inside his hut brewing the group some hot chocolate. But there's no sign of Ron or Y/N.

As if on queue, the duo appears at the top of the hill. Their shared laughter catches the attention of Hermione and Harry. "It's nice to see the two finally together. Doesn't it?" Hermione snickers under her breath with a smile as she admires her friends from a distance. Harry nods his head with a smile of his own.

Seeing Ron and Y/N smiling from ear to ear gives Harry a sliver of comfort. A distraction from the serious battle ahead. From where he sits, he's just watching a couple enjoying their night together. Not a single sign of fear laces their face. But he's sure the two are mentally afraid. They all are.

Harry escaped death once. But who's to say he can escape death again? Will his friends also make it out alive? It's all too scary to think about. Harry just wishes to have a normal school life for his final year. He only hopes that will be something achievable after the war is over.

"Sorry for the wait. Ron wanted to stuff himself with more desserts." You side eye the boy beside you who is rubbing his belly. He then pats it with a proud looking expression on his face. "Gotta get my fill in before tomorrow. I can't have an empty stomach while dueling it out with Death Eaters. It would be embarrassing if we're trading blows and my stomach starts to growl out of no where." Ron rambles about his reasoning for overeating.

Hermione rolls her eyes playfully while everyone chuckles at Ron's ridiculous imagination. The sound of the hut's door swings open and Hagrid beckons everyone to come inside. The four of you shuffle into the small hut and seat yourselves by the fireplace. Ron and Hermione sit in the chairs while you and Harry sit in front of them on the floor. Hagrid offers each one of you a cup of hot chocolate before sitting down on his arm chair. "Tomorrow's the big day." Hagrid speaks softly.

Everyone nods their heads as you rub your thumbs against the mug. Ron sets his cup aside to wrap his arms around you. Your heart skips as you purse your lips from his touch. Ron rests his chin on the top of your head. His voice reverberates above you. "It's a bit scary to think about."

Hagrid pets Fang who walks over to plop himself in front of Hagrid's feet. The gentle giant nods his head with distant eyes. Death is inevitable tomorrow. The likelihood of every person in Hogwarts surviving is slim. This weighs heavily on everyone's mind as the conversation grows into a heavy silence.

Hermione rests her hand on Harry's left shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. Harry raises his eyes up to look at Hermione who forces a smile on her face. "No matter what happens tomorrow, we'll be fighting by your side Harry." Ron nods when he squeezes Harry's right shoulder. "I bet You-know-who is going to flip when he sees you alive and well." Ron softly snickers under his breath.

You rest your cup beside you on the floor before reaching out to grab Harry's right hand in your left. Gently squeezing his palm, you stare at Harry with a serious look. "Don't do anything rash like getting yourself killed again. We're all in this together. We must finish the school year as four." Harry's nervous eyes soften when he looks from Hermione, Ron, and you.

"You four are the most bravest students I've gotten to meet." Hagrid sniffles as he watches over you all in front of him. The man wipes away his few tears as Fang whines out in sadness. The four of you look at one another before arms are open wide into a group hug. Hermione is the first to break her strong front when she begins to sniffle as she mutters out. "I love you all. You must survive tomorrow."
