Ron sits in silence on a swing that hangs on one of the many apple trees in the orchard. Leaving Y/N back at Hogwarts while he's here with his family feels wrong. But he had no room to say anything when the family needed to mourn over Percy. There's a feeling of hatred yet sadness that swirls in Ron's chest. Sad that he's lost his brother but a deep angry hatred for the same brother.

Percy without a doubt would've killed Ron without a heartbeat. So it's hard to mourn over someone with that mindset. The one who's grieving the hardest is his father. The man had to kill Percy in order to save Ron and Ginny. With a heavy sigh, Ron looks out at the dawn sky. The dead leaves and dry trees is fitting for the events lately.

Ron wishes to see the lush greens and warm weather again. He's tired of this coldness. Ron misses his friends and Y/N. He wishes to see them. To hug them. The boy is tired of being trapped in his own thoughts.

The sound of someone approaching Ron pulls him out of his thoughts. "You should come inside Ron. It's cold out here." Ginny hugs Ron from behind as she rests her chin on his shoulder. Ron stares at his feet. He doesn't have the urge to go inside.

"Mum made some hot chocolate." Ginny slowly pulls herself away to stare at Ron's back. "There's also some visitors that stopped by." Visitors? The latter sentence peaks Ron's interest when he turns around slightly to look at Ginny. The girl forms a tiny smile.

"Visitors?" Ron questions with raised brows. Ginny nods as she shoves her hands into her jacket pockets. "A boy and a girl. You might know them." Ginny playfully jokes. That's enough to get Ron on his feet and dashing towards the house. Ginny giggles as she hurries after Ron.

Ron's heart is pounding wildly against his chest. The visitors must be Harry and Y/N. They have to be. Ron swings open the front door as he hears chatter. There standing in the living room is the exact people Ron hoped it would be. Harry and Y/N. The two look at Ron with smiles on their faces.

Without wasting a second Ron lunges towards the two into a bear hug. They all fumble onto the ground with a loud thud as Mrs. Weasley gasps in surprise. Fred and George comes tumbling down the staircase to examine the noise in their pajamas. "What's all the noise for? It's barely sunrise." George groans out while Fred rubs at his tired eyes.

"Ron, let them breathe! They must be tired." Mrs. Weasley pries Ron away from Y/N and Harry. But Ron's just too excited to finally see his friends again. They're missing Hermione but he's sure she'll eventually stop by at the Burrow if not today, sometime within their two months away from Hogwarts.

"You two made me wait forever. I was beginning to think you wouldn't come." Ron looks at Harry and Y/N who pat their clothes off from any wrinkling after the sudden crash. Harry snickers under his breath and smiles at Ron. "Sorry for making you wait Ron. I was just in a bit of a funk." Harry wears a half smile before it falls.

It's easy enough for Ron to understand what Harry means. Ron gives the boy a firm squeeze on the shoulder before gently pushing him towards the couch to sit. Easily, Ron laces his hands with Y/N as he pulls her towards the couch to sit as well. Ron squeezes himself in the middle of the two while his mother sets down three cups of hot chocolate.

Ginny and the twins hurry into the kitchen to help with breakfast. Ron looks over to Y/N who's been quiet as she takes a sip of the hot chocolate. It's obvious the girl has been crying. Her eyes give it all away. Ron runs his fingertips through her hair which makes her jump slightly. The boy stares at her hair that runs through his fingers before resting his eyes on Y/N's face. " Sorry for not being there to wipe away your tears Y/N."

You hear Ron's words and it pulls at your heartstrings. You set your mug down and shake your head. Reaching up, you grab Ron's hand that runs through your hair and kiss his knuckles with a tiny smile. "You had to grieve alone too. So I'm sorry for not being there." Ron's cheeks turns a shade pink as he scrunches his nose. He leans forward to kiss the tip of your nose.
