✦ 10 | Change of perspective

Ron is beyond terrified. He's even more scared now that he's apart from Y/N. Who knows how helpful Draco is. The boy with shaky hands conjures several spells to light the area on fire. Pansy and Lavender are forming sweat on their foreheads from the heat and fear. These two are the last people on Earth Ron wants to die with. 

The boy looks across from him to see Y/N and Draco by Aragog. He notices how the two are struggling to take on the beast. Feeling pathetic and weak, Ron forces his way forward. He promised himself to protect Y/N and yet she's being protected by someone else. That person being one of his enemies, Draco Malfoy. 

Ron recalls Draco's words about the reason why he fought against Ron. 

"It's hopeless and I know nothing will come out of it but I do fancy Y/N."

The words eat the boy entirely. It's giving Ron this sense of uncomfortableness. The feeling hard to rid of. His chest feels tight when he watches Draco and Y/N huddled closely together. Ron's eyes widen when he watches Aragog swipe at the two. Y/N reflexively shielded Draco with her arm. 

That's when Ron's heart pounds heavily against his chest. There's a worried yet angry look on Draco's face when he looks at the girls arm. Y/N. She's hurt isn't she? This pulls a strong emotion out of Ron. The boys fear of spiders diminishes for a brief moment.

Ron groans loudly as he engulfs everything in flames before running straight towards Aragog with no fear. The thumping of his heart pounds loudly in his ear drums. Y/N shouldn't be the one to protect Draco. The girl barely recovered from her last scuffle. 

What bothers Ron even more is the one she is protecting. Doesn't she hate Draco? He's the reason why she's getting bullied. The boy bullied her too. The girl is too sweet for her own good.

As Ron runs straight to the enemy, Pansy and Lavender pick up their haste and follow after him. The three are now encroaching Aragog. Giving the beast even more enemies to fight. Aragog shouts loudly which causes a piercing sound up close. Everyone falls to their knees to clutch their ears. 

Ron squints his eyes when he sees Draco enveloping Y/N close to cover her ears. The two are scratched up and bloody. Clicking his tongue, Ron forces himself forward. He should be the one to protect Y/N. Ron repeats this over and over in his head. 

A thought eats at him in the back of his mind. What if Y/N falls in love with Draco after tonight? Not giving into his looming thoughts Ron tells his mind to shut up. Pansy manages to charge an attack towards Aragog's face to stop the beast from screaming. Ron fumbles over to Y/N and Draco thanks to the short opening of silence. 

You startle when you hear rushed footsteps from behind you. A pair of hands pulls you away from Draco. Glancing to your side you see Ron. His chest is heaving up and down heavily against your back. You notice the fear in his eyes but the boy managed to come this far for you. 

"Sorry for the delay. Let's kill this nasty beast." Ron utters out with a ragged breath. You and Draco nod in unison. With the five of you together now, Aragog's attacks are sloppy. But sloppy attacks are just as scary as precise ones. You never know where and when he will attack. 

Lavender focuses on igniting the web he lays on fire. Pansy keeps her attacks focused on his face while you, Ron, and Draco focus on his legs and body. With his web no longer, Aragog loudly falls onto the ground on all eight legs. Everyone shouts from the sight of him. Aragog now furious he's on all eight legs begins to scurry. 

"You children are annoying! I'll take out the first two who approached me first." Aragog grumbles. Fear envelopes you when you watch Aragog turn his body around towards you, Ron, and Draco. You're not the only one afraid when the two boys around you whimper.
