Chapter 7: Happy Travels

The week was already a long grueling task for Sonic. Shadow hadn't attacked since Monday and so Sonic was left to battle his boredom alone, ultimately allowing his roommate his wish to go to the science fair.

Tuesday was the usual, waking up, trying to combat a decent conversation with an exhausted Tails, going to see Knuckles, catching Rouge, going for a run and whatever else Sonic came across.

Sonic was sick on Wednesday and so could only complain to Knuckles, and sometimes Amy, over the phone. It wasn't fun.

Thursday, he wasn't allowed out just incase he was still sick. Tails treated him like a 6 year old sometimes - it was as annoying as it sounds, especially since Tails is over 6 years younger than Sonic. So, everyone came over and watched a few movies aswell as play some games.

Friday, is where Sonic found himself packing for both him and Tails as Tails had decided to finally clean out his garage on such a convinient day. It was almost as if he would rather clean a whole room than cram gloves, socks and other necessities into two bags without them poking out and the zip being able to close.

It was currently Saturday. The group had been crammed into a car, Rouge and Shadow having the luxury of their own car with three extra spaces. Sonic, Cream, Tails, Amy and Knuckles however had been crammed into one car with no space. Even hiding in the trunk wasn't an option, unless you would prefer to be squashed by suitcases at every single turn.

Sonic couldn't help but remember what Vanilla had said before they began their journey. "Happy travels". Happy travels indeed. Vanilla should have been here to experience this, not Sonic. She had asked for it.

Sonic couldn't handle it. Knuckles was shouting at the radio, telling it to play some song named 'Love will find a way' (sounds like a Knuckles song tho ngl). Aswell as Tails ranting to Cream about anything she got wrong in a sentence. Amy, for once, was the only quiet one. She seemed rather sad however, eyes glued to her fidgeting hands and mouth sealed like a coffin.

It was rather annerving to Sonic. Amy being quiet was often a death sentence, usually accompanied with a glare as she summoned her hammer. No one had noticed this however, each too busy yelling at someone or something. It was odd that only he was aware. He often ran through life, winning by luck and only looking at the world when it was pointed out to him. Now he was the one pointing things out to himself.

Amy's eyes met Sonic's for a moment, before returning to her now frantic hands. "You okay?" He whispered, guessing she probably didn't want people to notice. Amy nodded. "Just car sick..." she muttered. Sonic nodded reluctantly. "Just tell me if you feel like you're about to throw up." Amy nodded.

He knew that was a lie. Amy had travelled for hours by car with the gang many times. She had even hung from the wing of Tails' plane at one point - it wasn't fun when Sonic found himself holding her just incase she fell - and she had never even shown a sign of sickness.

Sonic held his peace despite this, he didn't want to force Amy to tell him anything if she didn't want to.
