It took awhile, but Sonic eventually found the ebony hedgehog tucked away in a tree with Geode. Said Chao's happy chirps leading Sonic to them. Shadow had clearly realised this as he had stopped petting them as Sonic approached.

"I see you Shads." Sonic called up. Shadow took a sharp inhale "I know that." He snapped. Sonic just sighed, muttering to himself, and climbed up onto the branch with Shadow.

"Why are you so upset?" Sonic asked "I don't think Amy said anything wrong, although that could just be me." Shadow sighed, petting Geode as he kept them close. "It's not about just then, Sonic." He said, voice just higher than a whisper. "Ever since that dinner Rouge dragged me to, I've caught her giving me glares, scowling at me, cussing me out." He took a sharp inhale before he continued "In other words, she's been a complete and utter b-tch." Shadow concluded.

Sonic jerked back at the other's words, carefully taking Geode away from Shadow. "I wouldn't call Amy that... she's a really nice person overall - like a younger sister who will always be there." He defended the pink hedgehog. Shadow shook his head, perking his lips as he contemplated how to tell Sonic about the problem he had found and was trying to ignore.

"You see.... there's some... 'legends' of sorts." Sonic snorted "Obviously. I'm a living one." He smirked. Shadow rolled his eyes and huffed "No Sonic. This legend... well uhm..." Shadow gulped. He was really beginning to unravel. How was he such a wreck? He could lie himself out of the situation but for some reason he wanted to be honest.

"Amy... likes someone." Shadow stated. Sonic laughed "No sh't Sherlock." Sonic stated sarcastically. "She likes everyone she sees." Shadow sighed, resisting the urge to slap the other. "Please be serious Sonic, you see. There's this legend, I wont go into detail, but essentially by accepting something you promise this... 'creature'... you will be together for as long as you live." Shadow explained.

Sonic thought for a moment. "I'm guessing someone took the bait." Sonic asked. Shadow nodded "So, now I'm kinda stuck with someone she likes."

Sonic nodded "Like how I took those crowns from the chao?" Shadpw reddened lightly, head whipping towards the hedgehog as anger settled on his features. "No." Shadow immediatley responded. "You don't know them. They're a mutual friend of mine and Amy's." Sonic just nodded.

"I'm taking you don't like it?" He asked. Shadow nodded "Get to know the person, you might actually like them more when you get to know the real them." Shadow shrugged nonchalantly, not paying much attention as he looked down beneath the branch, watching a few möbians pass by and eye the two with distaste or confusion.

"Come on Shads! Don't pretend to ignore me. I'll be honest, I didn't like you the first time we met." Shadow glared at Sonic. "But now look at us, we can actually talk without attacking eachother." He beamed. Shadow tilted his head side-to-side in a 'sort of way'. "Doesn't mean I don't contemplate it." He smirked as he looked back up at Sonic.

Sonic shook his head and sucked in one side of his cheek. He then got down off of the tree branch, balancing Geode to avoid hurting them, and waited for Shadow to follow. "Wanna just go for a walk?" Sonic offered. Shadow nodded his head and took Geode from Sonic's hands, allowing him the freedom of walking - or floating - by himself.
