  To say I felt heartbroken would be an understatement. I just met my mate. Then find out he is taken. I take a deep breath and sit down at my work station.

  I grab my cell phone and call Ms. Sarah. She picks up right away. What do I owe for this lovely surprise.

Hey Ms. Sarah. I am actually calling on official work matters. Ok then, Gabe how may I help you?

  Have you heard about the orphanage break ins? I have she says. Well I was thinking.

I would stay with you at the orphanage. Until the culprit makes their move. We would set up cameras and lock up the records tight.

  When they make their move we will call detective August. He is who I am working with. We will not engage ourselves.

They have only attacked. When they felt threatened. Can you ask Alpha Gordon if he is available to meet with Detective August tomorrow regarding this case.

I will contact Alpha Gordon and let you know. However Gabe you cannot be here. If and when they come here.

What are you talking about. Actually Gabe you should stay somewhere safer. Maybe with one of the detectives.

  Huh Ms. Sarah what is going on. I will set up a meeting with the alpha for tomorrow. We will discuss it more then.

For now let me talk to Detective August. What why? Just do it Gabe. Fine give me a minute.

  I walk over to Detective Augusts desk again. Excuse me detective. Yes Gabe, how may I help you.

Ms. Sarah will set up a meeting for tomorrow with the alpha for us. However she is on the phone and says it is urgent she talks to you.

  Ok, he says and I hand him my cell phone. Hello Ms. Sarah this is detective August. How may I help you. I have no clue what is being said. His face changes to a serious one.

  He looks up at me. He then tells her I will personally watch over him. He can stay with my fiancée and me on her packs territory.

Have you heard of the Raging River pack. I do not know what they are discussing. I zone out.

  That is until he says thank you Ms. Sarah.  We will see you tomorrow. I glance at him and he hands me my phone.

Hi I say, Ms. Sarah I am an adult. I am staying at my own place. No you are not she says. Yes I am. You of all people know. I can take care of myself.

  Look Gabe there are things you do not know. Then tell me. Let me make my own decisions.

We will all talk about this tomorrow ok Gabe. Fine Ms. Sarah. However I am staying at my own place tonight.

  Once I know the truth. I will make a decision about having the Detectives protection. Fine Gabe if that is the case.

  How about dinner with me. Will 7:00 p.m tonight at that fancy sandwich place you like work.  Sounds great, see you then.

  I hang up and look at Detective August. He still looks stone cold serious. I am not sure what she told you. I make my own decisions.

After the meeting with Alpha Gordon tomorrow.  If then I feel I need your protection. Then I will decide. Fine he says.

  A couple hours later. A tall woman with red wavy hair and Carmel skin enters. She is carrying like twelve boxes of pizza.

Detective August runs over and grabs the pizza. He kisses her cheek and says Phoebe your heaven sent. He sets them at a long table in the center of the room.
