Chapter 4

I am in tears as I finish reading the letter. I look over at August who is holding my hand. He also has tears streaming down his face. I brush his tears away and thank him for being with me while I read the letter.

No problem Gabe you are my mate. I will always support you. I believe you should pack some bags and stay with Phoebe and I.

  I know you did not want to mate and be marked right away. I think we need to have a long discussion with Phoebe. You will be safer with us.

You should let Phoebe read the letter. Then we can have a discussion on how to move forward. I believe we should not rush the mating but not wait to long either.

  We will have a life time to get to know each other. I just want you to know like your father asked. I will love, cherish and protect you with my last breath.

Ok August, I will go pack some bags. Sounds good, I will call the chief and tell her we have some leads. I will not give any details about your private life.

   I will tell her that we believe whoever it is they are after you. I will inform her that you are going to stay with Phoebe and I. I am also going to ask for the rest of the afternoon off to get you settled in.

  I nod and walk to my room. I pack two full suitcases with anything I felt I would need. I know that we are not too far away.

I can visit and come back when needed. As I walk into the living room. August is just ending his phone call.

He looks up at me. He walks over and grabs one of my suitcases. I walk around the house and unplug the electronics. I make sure all my appliances are off.

I lock up and we put my suitcases in my jeep. August sent a text to Phoebe. Informing her that I will be staying with them.

He says that we are going to meet her for lunch. We then will head to their place. I am going to follow August.  I want my own vehicle with me. I do not want to rely on them for too much.

  I have been independent for far to long. I grew up trusting few. Only truly relying on myself.

  If I wanted or needed something. It will be difficult to let them in. I will try. I already trust and feel protected when I am in August's presence.

I follow August to this nice little diner. It looks like something from the 1950-60's genre. There are little juke boxes at the end of each table.

I am totally feeling the vibe. August grabs my hand. We walk over to a booth in the back. Where Phoebe is sitting at.

She glances at August holding my hand. She stands up to kiss his cheek. Then she gives me a hug.

  I love the tingles running through my body from their touch. August let's go of my hand. He goes and sits with Phoebe. I sit opposite of them.

August says to Phoebe. Let's eat lunch then we will take Gabe to our place. He will be staying with us for a while. We have a lot to talk about.

  She is giving August and I nervous glances. This is what I wanted to avoid. Coming between the two of them. August looks up at me as if reading my mind.

  Gabe it will be fine. Phoebe you are excited about Gabe staying with us right he asks. Phoebe I told him how you would not stop asking about him.

Phoebe blushes and scoots closer to August. I really would like to get to know you better Gabe. You have no idea Phoebe. 

You are going to get to know me. So much more than you were expecting real soon. August laughs, and suggests the burgers and milkshakes.

  I order the Crispy chicken club and a Chocolate banana milk shake. August orders a double cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake. Phoebe orders a double bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and an Oreo milkshake. August mouths to me wearwolf remember.

Phoebe was dropped off so she will ride back with August. He promised not to say anything about us being mates or my Griffin form. We did tell her we have a lot to go over with her.

  She did tell us that she was hoping. I would be staying with them. She set up the guest room across the hall from their room for me.

I followed them back to Phoebes pack. We stopped at the border.  Phoebe got out to talk to the guard.

She let them know I would be staying with them for a while. The guard who's name was Dan was friendly. He gave me a pass for my vehicle.

  I will just scan it to get in. He then checked inside my jeep. He checked that I was not smuggling anything in.

  He winked at me as I was getting in my jeep. I looked over and seen August watching the interaction. He was gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles were white.

Phoebe got back in with August. They drove deeper into pack territory. I followed them through the center which was like a town square.

  It had shops, a diner, book store and a cute coffee shop.  I can see myself visiting. We drove farther. 

There was a huge four story building. Similar to an apartment building. This must be their pack house.

We continue down a dirt path towards the woods. I see many different sized homes scattered throughout. August turns towards a really nice rustic ranch style home with a wrap around porch.

  The place is gorgeous. It is secluded away from the rest of the homes. I love the wood and stone work. He pulls around the side and parks. I pull up next to him.

We all get out of our vehicles. I start pulling out my suitcases. I look over to Phoebe. 

Your home is beautiful. She blushes and thanks me. Phoebe goes to unlock the door.

  August walks over and grabs one of the suitcases. He stops and looks at me seriously. Gabriel you are ours. I did not like the way the guard was flirting with you.

I look at him irritated. As you saw I did not flirt back. Chill out August.

I am no one's possession. I expect respect. He nods and walks in the house with my suitcase.

As we enter Phoebe is waiting for us. August show him to his room please. He can put some of his stuff away.

I will make us some tea and coffee. Sounds good Phoebe. We have a lot to discuss with you, August says to her.

The inside of the home is just as beautiful as the outside. August tells me there are four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The master and the guest room I will be in have en-suite bathrooms.

  The last two guest rooms have a jack and Jill bathroom. Then there is a bathroom off the hallway. Between the living room and Augusts home office.

August opens the door to the room I will be using. It is very nice. It is painted sage green. All the furniture is light oak. There is a green pattern area rug in front of the large king size bed.

  Next to the bed is a night stand with a lamp on it. There is a large dresser, and a nice desk in the corner. I see a walk in closet with double doors. Then on the other side of the room. I see the door to the bathroom.

  August this room is great. I love the desk. It will great for nights I bring paperwork home with me.

Gabriel you might not want to get to comfortable. You are our mate after all. I would hope you would stay with us. August that might take time.

  I am open to being marked and mated for all of our safety. However I have been alone for a long time. I will need my space and you two are used to each other.

I will be right across the hall from you both. Also I will be open to you both taking turns staying with me also. We will all have to adapt.  As we get to know each other.

You are right Gabe we have time. I am glad you are leaning towards mating sooner than later. I really am looking forward to being with you. We better go have this discussion with Phoebe.
