Chapter 19

Bruce in his bear form

August (pov)

  We left Gabe's house and went towards the commotion. Phoebe and I both knew. Tiana was capable of protecting Gabe and keeping him calm. She is a great friend.

  We walk past the orphanage towards the elven territory. It is just as Gabriel described it. There are two hooded people leading about a hundred hunters I would say. Of different species. It looks like they have humans, rogues, witch's and who knows what else.

  They are spread out across the elven and Harvest moon borders. Alpha Gordon is in the center. Good thing him and Fynn are prepared for them. 

  I meet eyes with the Alpha. He looks around and I nod. I know he is silently checking that Gabriel is safe. I greatly appreciate them wanting to protect my mate. 

  The hooded figure steps forward. They take off their hood. I am surprised at what I see. It is a woman.

  She stands at about 6 foot 1 with well defined muscles. She has shoulder length pitch black hair. There is a jagged scar across the left side of her face. She looks maybe to be in her early forties.

  She steps forward and loudly speaks. Where is he? The child left here approximately eighteen years ago. Give him to us or else we will burn down your territory.

  The Alpha steps forward as does Fynn the elven clan leader. We do not know of who you are looking for the alpha speaks up.

  Yes you do. We will go through any one who try's to stop us she yells out. I can feel Phoebe next to me vibrating with anger.

This person is after our mate. I whisper to her to calm down. I also tell her we need to avoid using our powers at this time. She nods in agreement.

  Alpha Gordon then uses his loud Alpha command. Leave this is your last warning.
Instead the woman cackles and says so be it.

You asked for it. She puts her fist up then swings it down in one quick motion. Her followers start attacking.

  Fynn and Alpha Gordon then tell their warriors to attack. It is a fierce fight. We have them greatly outnumbered.

They are not giving up. They are holding their own. I look at Phoebe and Bruce both fighting in there other forms.

  As much as Bruce bugs me. He is a huge beautiful cinnamon colored bear. He definitely is someone I am glad to have on our side. I already knew Phoebe as an Alphas daughter could hold her own. She is an amazing fighter in both forms.

  My eyes are blood red. My nails and fangs are elongated. Many know not to mess with a pissed off Vampire. The woman with the jagged scar is fighting the Elven clans second in command.

  She grabs him by the throat and looks in his eyes. Her eyes turn a deep gold and swirl. She seems to be looking into his soul or reading his mind. She then tosses him away. He is still breathing but unconscious.

  Shit if she gets to the right person we are screwed. She will find Gabe. I against my better judgment decide to use my powers.

  I look at her and blow against my palm. She flys back slamming against a tree. She is looking around trying to see who attacked her.

  I continue fighting others. Just glancing at her keeping her in my sight. She brushes her cloak off and stands up. She did not notice me.

  She attacks and reads a few more people. We all continue to fight. The Archers from the elven clan are up high in the trees. They are trying to take out as many of the enemy as possible.

  It feels like it has been hours. I am starting to tire and so is Phoebe. The elven leader says this is enough.

Be gone and claps his hands. There is a huge flash and a cloud of dust. Once it settles I am looking around they are gone.

  What was that I ask no one in particular. Bruce says that is a relocation blast. He sent them away. Where I am not sure.

I know Tiana was studying it. She can only get you as far as outside. Where you are at or inside depending on the situation.

  Hopefully that buys us some time. They were pretty powerful. We have some injuries but luckily no one was killed. We need to gather everyone and come up with more plans. I go to meet up with the alpha.

  Detective August get rest today and relieve Gabe from the bunkers. I am sure he is worried sick. Call your chief and we can reconvene tomorrow afternoon. We will all need our rest after today.

  Yes Alpha Gordon. I hope that lady did not get any information she can use against us. I go meet up with Bruce and Phoebe. They both look exhausted. There are some people handing out waters to those who fought.

  We each take one and start walking towards the pack house. I grab Phoebes hand while we walk. Bruce walks with us.

We are all quiet no one was hurt but it did not feel like we won. It was a standstill. Thank goodness for Fynn and elven magic.

  We need to come up with some back up plans. We should also make some alliances to fight beside us. I am not sure what all they were made up of. They were strong.

  As we reach the pack house we see the Luna standing out front. She tells us they just opened the bunkers and everyone should be out shortly. We stand out front waiting for Gabe and Tiana.

  There's a loud group of preteens that stampede out of the place. We then see Tiana walk out. She has her arm around Gabe's shoulders. Right away this concerns me. Did something happen.

  Phoebe and I walk over to them quickly. Right away I ask. What is wrong did something happen.

  Tiana responds he is fine. He was worried sick about the two of you. On top of that he had another vision.

  He did, what did you see Gabe? August can we just go back to my place for now. I need a cup of hot tea and to be near you and Phoebe. Then I will discuss my vision. Tiana will help me explain things.

  Yes Gabe, we can do that. Phoebe and I each grab one of Gabe's hands in ours. We walk together back to his small place. Bruce and Tiana are right behind us following.

  Once we arrive Phoebe, Bruce and I go to freshen up a bit. Tiana gets started making some tea. Gabe cleans up our scrabble game and then sits in his cozy living room.
