Chapter 14

I stare at Mal. "look, I know you hate me but... I want to make it right, we can make an antidote for the love potion, you can give it to him before you get out of the carriage" I nod "oh and Evie wants you to have this" she hands me the dress I designed "thank you" I smile as I hang it up on the door before walking out of the dorm closing the door behind me "let's go" I lead the way to the kitchen where we get everything we need for the cake or brownie even the tear of sadness. We bake it, and put a slice of it into a cute box.

The following day was hell as I tried to avoid as many people as I could before in the evening having dinner with Ben and his family "I'm glad we can have dinner as a family, especially after Family Day, god that was a disaster" Belle smiles "I think I know why it was such a disaster" I speak up "did you speak to Mal and find out?" Ben asks, and I shake my head. "no. I snapped at them and told them I was disappointed with them since they ruined something so nice, it's just hard for the VKs to get along with the students here since they are used to the Isle and all bad things" I explain before eating Coq Au Vin which was a great chicken dish "villains will always be villains" Adam shakes his head "I find that rude, I'm a villain kid and I never acted rude or horrible on the isle, I treated others with respect because that's how I wanted to be treated over there, you have no idea how hard it was to live on that trash isle" I respond. We just eat in silence. Nobody wanted to speak in case of another repeat from the family day happened. After dinner, we played monopoly and let's just say I was winning the game. We played several rounds before I had to go so we all had enough rest for the big day, but nobody would be prepared for what the other four would have in stock.

I went to bed around midnight and awoke 7 hours later to my mother shaking me awake "darling, get up, I got you breakfast and some juice, we are making you look adorable but princess-like" she grins as I sit up taking the meal from her, I feel her brushing my hair as I eat which was a cruller doughnut and a breakfast puffs. As soon as my hair wasn't being brushed and pulled, I drank the apple juice before Persephone starts cleaning my face from any mess I made just then "get dressed!" She orders so I get out of bed, and put the rubbish in the bin before cleaning my hands and grabbing the dress, I walk behind the divider and change from yesterday's clothes and into my dress only to use quick magic to make the colour different since I was tired of people using blue for everything, it wasn't even my favourite colour! I just pretend it is...

I step from behind the divider "oh my daze you look adorable... That wasn't the colour of the dress behind the door... Nix did you change the colours?" She asks and I nod before explaining why I did it. I then sit in a chair allowing her to work her magic with make-up to make me look prettier than I am, she didn't go over the top and kept it as natural as possible whilst adding in different colours on my eyes to bring them out with a pop "there!" She grins before letting me see what I look like in the mirror "today will be a happy day" I mutter "I'm going to go find Ben" she nods and I grab the small box before leaving my dorm and searching for Ben whilst I had time, it wasn't time for the coronation just yet "hey, I was just about to come and get you... You look amazing" he whispers and I smile "so do you" I look down "uh I wanted to give you something to eat before the coronation, to help with the nerves" I awkwardly laugh "thanks" he smiles taking the box and eating the cake "how do you feel? Are you feeling good" I ask "you bet" "Would you say that you're still in... that... that you have very strong feelings for me?" I ask "I'm not sure. I mean, let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect." He smiles "Yeah... Okay. What? What? You knew?" I gasp with my eyes widening "That you spelt me? Yeah. Yeah, I knew." I look at my feet "I'm... I can explain myself." I feel his hand under my chin as he lifts my head up to I'm looking at him "No, look, It's fine. I mean, you had a crush on me. I was with Audrey. You didn't trust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?" He asks me "Yes. You're so right. So, then, how long have you known?" I frown "Since our first date. Your spell washed away in the Enchanted Lake." He explains and I just stare in disbelief  "So then what? You've just been... Faking it since then?" I ask "I haven't been faking anything, look we can finish this conversation later, we have a coronation to get to" I nod as I let him take me to the carriage, we get in and start the journey to the church, we wave to a few people before he turns to face me again "Nix, would you wear my ring?" He asks "it would probably fall right off" I sigh but he slides it on my finger "do it for me at least" I nod as the carriage stops and he gets out before helping me down, we walk arm in arm up the stairs and to his parents, "I told Ben this wasn't going to be easy." Adam chuckles "You also taught me that a king has to believe in himself. Even when it isn't easy." Ben tells his father "I did? I... how very wise of me." "Ben, we are very proud of you. You keep listening to your heart." Belle says placing a hand over her heart "Thanks, mom." He smiles "You're gonna make a fine king." Adam pat's Ben on the shoulder before taking Belle's hand and leading her away "Wish me luck." He whispers "you don't need luck," I smile before taking a butler's hand and walking with him to my place.
