A/N: A small tinge of angst but I wanted to end it with some fluff! I hope you've been having a great morning/afternoon/night!! -Alireta
Sun and Moon had been doing their best to welcome Lunar, treating him as best they could. Moon had told Sun about how Lunar was treated by.. Eclipse... Sun hated that name too. He still suffered nightmares from his own horrifying experiences with Eclipse.. so when Lunar came to him for comfort, the pair confided in each other, and they grew very close to each other- almost never leaving each others side. The only other person they depended on was Moon, but they could accept him leaving for a while as long as they were left together that is. Still, sometimes they couldn't bear to let go of him, and Moon played and comforted them all day instead- doing any mandatory work in their living space, still allowing the two to be near him as he worked.
Moon began trying to help the two with their anxieties immediately after they opened up to him about it, he remembered their fearful faces as they dreaded Moon's judgements of them. So, after removing any doubts from his brother's minds, he had influenced them to start playing games as a three, then eventually, when the pair grew confident with certain games, they slowly began to play without Moon. Today they were playing tag- with Moon watching them from the balcony, smiling gently, proud of them. Then he got a message. Monty needed desperate help on the main stage.. multiple defects in the crew during a show- they needed all the help they could get- Moon sighed heavily, facepalming before going to break the news to his brothers. He hoped they were well enough today to let him go, he couldn't bare their distraught faces as they begged him to stay.. it was.. more than depressing.. to say the very least..
Moon took off with his cable jumping lightly into the ballpit, taking care to avoid scaring his brothers, before standing up and wading out onto the foamy plastic bridges to get out. He saw Sun and Lunar running around excitedly, giggling happily and messing around in their little chase, Moon smiled again at their antics- and not even a second later, the duo spotted him, running up to him as fast as possible and jumping onto him- the pair tackling him into the ground in a laughter filled hug, which Moon quickly returned, him laughing as well. They stayed like that for a moment, Moon allowing his brothers to calm down slightly as they got up and began playing again, another sigh left Moon as he called them back over- motioning for them to sit down in front of him, which they quickly did, crossing their legs and looking up at him expectantly. Moon scrunched his eyes for a second before speaking "Sunny, Luney, the glamrocks are having some problems right now, ok?" He waited for them to process his words, both nodding after a minute looking back up at him. "So, I'm gonna have to help them, ok?" He waited again. Both animatronics eyes widened when they processed Moon's meaning, they fidgeted and scooted closer to each other, they angled their heads down but still continued to look up at their brother, Lunar nervously answered Moon, "a-are you gonna come b-back?" His whisper was hesitant and afraid as he began to tremble at his racing thoughts, cuddling into Sun for support, who did the exact same thing. "I'll only be away for a little while, I'll have lots of help so I'll be back soon, ok?" The pair glanced at each other before Sun replied carefully "do y-you have t-to?" He shrunk after he finished speaking, waiting anxiously, Moon held his breath for a moment, contemplating, "yeah, I have to, it'll be quick! I promise!" The pair seemed calm and nodded at each other "ok Moony, be back quick, ok?" Moon nodded, hugging them both again before rushing out of the daycare, leaving the two alone.
Despite the constant music playing in the daycare, the place suddenly seemed awfully quiet to the duo.. they hated it, they felt watched.. observed.. they clung desperately to each other as soon as Moon left their sight. They weren't safe anymore, they were weak and vulnerable, but.. they couldn't hold Moon back.. they knew he had important things to do.
They sat there for a while, not daring to move from their spot- until Lunar began to shiver against Sun, getting worse quickly, until he was shaking so violently that Sun's heating didn't effect him anymore. Sun was worried, very worried.. he knew that he needed to get Lunar blankets.. but he was too weak to carry him and he couldn't just leave Lunar behind!! That was unacceptable. But Lunar was really cold-..
Lunar felt Sun's warmth fade and he tensed. Why was Sun moving? His eyes widened in fear when Sun began to walk away, quickly trying to stand- desperate to follow- but his mechanical joints had began to freeze and stiffen, making his painfully desperate efforts worthless.. he hated it.. his thoughts began to race at Sun's disappearance- did he leave because of Lunar's shivering? D-did he annoy Sun enough to lea-
Before he could finish his sentence, he was wrapped up in a heated fluffy blanket- multiple of them in fact- and he was pulled into the nap time corner by a (somewhat struggling) Sun. Lunar's face lit up at the realisation that Sun- did not- leave him! The solar bot snuggled into the blankets next to his cold brother, embracing him again and hoping that his sibling would begin to warm up. By this point- both of them had forgotten about Moon's absence and were enjoying the warmth of the blankets, talking and laughing while staring up at the glow in the dark stars in the blanket fort they called the nap time corner. It was the most relaxing place in the daycare- especially when you needed comfort. Sun and Lunar often snuggled in here- loving the peace and beauty of the cosmos theme, always making them feel safe and like Moon was there with them. Eventually the bots grew tired and fell asleep in their blanket hug mid conversation, sleeping peacefully in each others presence, no nightmares racking their minds tonight.
- Time Skip! -
Moon was quite pissed- the repairs that the crew needed were intricate, annoying and too hard for the normal mechanics- meaning that it was all left for him. He was not happy about that. He told his brothers he would be back as soon as possible- that was at 11:30 pm.. now it was nearly 03:25 am. He was completely and utterly done. Listening to nothing but Monty's blathering, the mechanics complaining and the glamrocks stupid error sound- which never seemed to be fixed- Moon was done. He only wanted to see his brothers, the longer he was away the worse they'd get.. he hated seeing them panic and cry.. he needed to see them.
Sadly- he wasn't allowed to leave until he finished the repairs.. and even though he worked as quickly as possible- it still took hours to complete the complex repairs. And when those hours passed, Moon looked at the time, praying that it wasn't too long.. he held his breath, closing his eyes before turning towards the clock in parts and services... then he opened them. 5:47 am. Oh no.
Moon ran. He practically flew on his cable, reaching speeds that put the wire at risk of snapping from stress. He didn't care. He needed to see his brothers. When he reached the metal door to the daycare, he threw himself down the slide, not risking the extra time to get to the main doors. He expected to find Sun and Lunar soaked in tears, crumpled together on the floor in hysterics! But- ... he couldn't see them.. or hear them, or anything! Now he was truly worried. Where were they? Were they alright?! What are they doing?!
Moon searched frantically for his siblings, looking high and low, ducking into every secret space that existed in the daycare. He crawled through the structures, practically dug up the ball pit.. yet they were nowhere to be seen.. he began to tear up in stress. Now, he had only their rooms in the sky stage and the nap time corner to search. He held his breath, taking fast steps towards the corner, bursting into the colossal fort of blankets.. and there they were..
Moon's face erupted into a joyful grin, his eyes shining in relief and pride for his siblings! They were cuddled together, completely calm and comfortable in a deep nightmare-free sleep. Moon hadn't been so happy since the day Eclipse was defeated, he was incredibly proud of his siblings- they had made such a great leap in progress!
Moon crawled over to the sleeping duo, unraveling the bundle slightly to enter himself. As soon as the pair felt Moon's presence, they cuddled up to him in an iron embrace, evidently never keen on letting him go. Moon didn't mind. He was too happy about his brothers being safe and well!
The three ended up cuddling for most of the day, with Moon faithfully guarding the two from any badness. He was content and he was proud, he smiled softly at his peaceful brothers before he himself also fell into a comfortable sleep.
