“I can't go to prison daddy. Do you know what they do to girls like me? You have to make this go away.” Heather screamed at her parent's. Trent gently brushed Heather's tear streaked face and hugged her to his chest. “Princess, your not going to prison. Your mother and I would never let that happen. And as far as what would happen to you in prison I don't even want to think about that and you do not have to worry about it either.” Heather looked up at her father, “You promise daddy?” Trent looked down at his daughter and smiled, “I promise baby.” Her mother, Sandra, stood up from where she had been setting and walked over to her husband and daughter and rubbed Heather's back, “Honey, why don't you go to your room, get cleaned up and get some rest. You've had a very long day and I'm sure you don't want dark circles and puffiness ruining that beautiful face of yours..”
Heather sniffled and remained in her father embrace for a few minutes longer, “Daddy, I'm so sorry about everything. I didn't want any of it to happen. It's just....just that Ethan said if I really loved him I would do it and those stupid fat girls just kept saying nasty stuff about me. Daddy, they....they said they thought I wasn't....pre.....pretty enough for him.” Heather buried her face in Trent's chest and sobbed harder. “Oh honey, their just stupid fat girls who are jealous of you. They can't find their own boyfriends cause they set around and stuff their faces all day. As far as Ethan goes, you can do so much better then him. I never understood what you seen in him in the first place. He's just trailer trash with a drunk of a father. Now, do like your mother said and go to your room.” “Okay, daddy. I love you.” “I love you too princess.”
Sandra and Trent watched as their daughter, slumped shoulder's and still sniffling, walk up the stairs to her room. Sandra smiled at her husband, “You spoil her rotten you know.” Trent chuckled, “And you don't?” Now it was Sandra's turn to chuckle, “Yeah, I guess we both do. You want a drink before we head to bed?” “God, yes and thank you for offering.” Trent said and set down in his chair. “You haven't forgot that her birthday is the day after tomorrow have you?” “I'm the one that gave birth to her, how can I forget that?” Trent laughed, “Yes dear, you remind me of that all the time. Well, maybe her birthday present will help her forget all this nonsense that has happened.”
Heather walked in her room, shut the door and locked it then threw herself on her bed. God, her parent's were so stupid and gullible she thought to herself. She wiped at her tear stained cheeks, not a one of them was shed because she felt bad about what had happened. She felt pissed because she got caught, which wouldn't happen again, she thought. Ethan, Melody and that new girl, she racked her brain trying to remember her name but couldn't quite grasp it, were going to pay. And this time she wouldn't make any stupid mistakes.
She grabbed her purse and rummaged through it for her phone. Finley finding it she wrapped her finger's around the diamond encrusted pink case and pulled it out. Pink was Heather's favorite color and girls like Heather always deserved diamonds, she thought as she slid her finger over the touch screen. She looked at Ethan's name and number before touching it and thought. Her father was so stupid and gave her no credit at all, she knew she was far better then Ethan. She had chosen him exclusively, month's earlier, to be a pawn in her game's. Of course she hadn't known then about the fire but that's what she liked about the game of life. It throw things at you and it was up to you what you did with those things and Heather was always good at turning those things into opportunities that would enhance her, giving no thought as to who it might hurt.
Heather touched the screen and listened as it rang, “Come on you worthless piece of shit, pick up.” she said to the ringing phone. Just when she was about to hang up, “Hello Heather.” “Who...who is this and why do you have my boyfriends phone?” “I'm pretty sure he isn't your boyfriend anymore and this is Detective Donner.” Heather touched the screen and hung up, “Fuck!” she said to the empty room. She stood up from her bed, stretched, walked to her vanity table and set down. As she stared at her beautiful face she said to her image, “Okay, Detective Donner. You want to play in my game, so be it but you better be prepared for a bumpy ride because you won't be coming out on top.” Heather laughed at her pun then added, “Well, you might be on top but you won't finish.”
