While Andrea and Lyric discussed all this and more, Melody was busy at the pizza house. In between delivering pizza's to the tables, ringing up order's, doing dishes and sweeping, Melody told her family what went down in the ally. JaCoby was bummed out that Lyric went home instead of coming to the pizza house to help out. He understood why she choose to go home, but he had just wanted to see her. “Look bro, I know your bummed and all but you'll see her tomorrow at school.” Funny how twins knew what each other were thinking. “Yeah, your right.” JaCoby answered.

The Smith family had lived in this little town their whole life. Melody's great grandparent's had moved here from Italy after they got married. Just months after moving here they had opened Mama's Pasta House, it flourished being that it was the frist and only pasta place in town. When they had died, Melody's grandmother inherited it and after that Melody's mother. Melody know that one day her and JaCoby would own it.

They still served pasta but now the main menu item was pizza, so her parent's had renamed it Mama's Pizza House. They knew everyone in town, including the Shilling's, Heather's family. As Melody rang up an order, handed the change back to the customer and thanked them, her mother came up beside her. “I'll talk to Sandra tomorrow. I'm sure she'll talk to Heather and things will be fine.” “No.” Melody told her mother. “It won't be fine. What you don't understand is that it will just make everything worse. It always makes things worse because that is just how Heather is.”

“I just don't understand. You two were best friends from pre-school to fifth grade and then all of a sudden you two wouldn't have anything to do with each other. How does something like that happen?” “Because Heather turned into a hateful....., Melody really wanted to say Bitch but decided against it being that her mother would lecture her for an hour on her use of bad language.....witch and started thinking she was better then everybody. That's how it happened. Mom, please do not talk to her mother about it. Where do you think Heather learned everything.” “I agree her mother acts high flutten sometimes but I don't think she would allow her daughter to be so mean.”

For a few minutes, mother and daughter just stared at each other “Okay, I won't talk to Sandra but you girls have to grow up and start being civil to each other. You can not someday own this business and select who can and can't eat here.” Her mother sternly said. Melody sighed and watched her mother walk back to the kitchen.

JaCoby walked over and put his hand on Melody's shoulder, “She's right you know.” “I know but I just wish Heather would stop being such a bitch. It would serve her right to not get to eat here anymore.” “Hey, just think of it this way, the more she eats here the more of her money goes into our pocket's.” “You mean more of her parent's money.” “Yeah, well, money is money as long as it goes into my pocket I don't care who's money it is.” JaCoby said and smiled at his sister. “Your such a goof but hey if it means anything, I love the way you think.” Melody smiled back and winked.

Melody and JaCoby had always been close, not only to each other but to their parent's was well. They were the only children their parent's had and they relied on each other growing up. They had also grown up in this pizza house, learning the ins and outs of the business from a very early age. They both shared the same beliefs that their parent's instilled in them. You treated people with respect and dignity no matter where they came from or rather you knew them or not. Right now, Melody was having a hard time doing that with Heather.

Sunday thru Thursday the pizza house closed at 10pm, Friday, and Saturday it closed at midnight. This was Monday so as soon as 10pm hit, her father turned the closed sign on and locked the door. “Thank God”, Melody said to her father. “I know, it was busy for a Monday. Let's get this placed cleaned up and ready for tomorrow and go home. Everyone did a great job.” He chuckled and patted Melody on the back. As he turned around to go to the back office, glass shattered and flame scattered, catching the curtains and table clothes on fire, then Melody screamed. Melody's mother ran from the back and screamed also.
