Ethan now felt better about seeing the Smith kids, at first when he seen them all he could think of doing was hiding his face in shame. He sure wasn't expecting them to accept his apology but when JaCoby had said what he said it made Ethan feel so much better. Maybe Donner, Kate, Eddie and Ollie were right, if you truly did try to rectify your mistakes with sincere acceptance and the will to change things would change for the better. He really hoped they were right anyhow.

He had known the Smith practically his whole life, not really knew them but went to school with both Melody and JaCoby for years and had eat at the pizza house quite often. He was truly sorry for his part in the fire, not just for getting caught either. These people were truly good people and that was what he was sorry about, for causing them needless pain. Ethan knew he could never make enough money to pay them for the repairs the fire cost them but maybe he could do something, like work a few hours for them here and there for no charge. He would have to talk to Donner about it and see what he thought.

Ethan hated the fact that once again Heather got away with another fire. Part of him wanted to believe, like Donner said, eventually she would screw up and get caught but another part of him didn't think she would so he felt the need to make it happen. He knew that Heather thought this was just a big game to her and she had no sympathies or guilt for anything she ever did. In all actualities Ethan thought she was a sociopath because she seemed to have no conscience. He remembered reading about sociopath's in some book he had picked up at the library and she seemed to fit the criteria to a tee. If that were the case then they would have a hard time catching her and she would more then likely do more damage.

It had been a pretty busy afternoon and he really didn't have much time to himself to even think but he thought about the girl that had been setting with JaCoby and Melody out back. He didn't really know who she was but he had seen her a few times before. He thought she was really pretty though and those brown eye's of her's looked like they could reach the depth of your soul. Maybe at some point he would see her without her cohort's. When he was younger he used to have a crush on Melody but she had always acted distant and uninterested so he never acted on his feelings. He still thought she was pretty cute though with her pouty lips and auburn streaked hair.

Around 12:30pm he thought he would go check on them outside, the rush inside had died down some so he had plenty time. He walked outside and found their table empty, they had even thrown their trash away and set their tray on the return counter. He looked out over the beach and didn't see them but he did see Heather and Tessa. He made a quick retreat back inside because he didn't want to deal with them. However, Heather had seen him and decided it was time to get something to drink, “I'm thirsty, how about you Tessa?” Tessa replied, “Yeah, I could use something to drink.” Heather didn't really care if Tessa was thirsty or not she linked arms with Tessa and made their way across the beach to Kate's.

They walked up on the deck and walked over to the order window and Heather dinged the bell. Eddie came to the window and asked them what they would like, they ordered two large diet cokes. They payed Eddie then went and set down at the table that JaCoby, Melody and Lyric had set at earlier. About 2 minutes later Eddie opened the window and hollered that their drinks were ready. Heather huffed and said, “What, we don't get table service?” Eddie looked at her and said, “Here's your drinks, if you want them come get them,” then he shut the window. Heather, still pissed that someone didn't bring them to her told Tessa to go get the drinks. Tessa did as she was told then set back down at the table.

“Who the hell do some people think they are? Especially some low life like that,” Heather said as she sipped her coke. Tessa shrugged her shoulder's but didn't reply because she knew Heather didn't really want one. Heather blamed everyone for making her life a living hell, especially Donner and Ethan. Since the fires had been in the paper's everyone thought she had something to do with it, whether it was true or not made no difference. They had no proof and as far as Heather went that was good enough for her.
