Lyric and Andrea had fallen asleep earlier and know Lyric jerked awake from a nightmare of bad men with ropes and witches. Earlier she had thought she heard siren's but now all was quiet. Must have been in my nightmares too, she thought. Koda had her head on Lyric's chest with her big blue eye's staring right at her, she whined. Lyric rubbed her ear's and told her everything was okay. With everything her mother had told her earlier she really didn't think it was but at least she understood thing's a little bit better now.

Koda stretched her body and made a sound that only a puppy could make, then sneezed. Andrea yawned and said bless you. “Did you hear siren's earlier?” Her mother asked. “I thought it was in my nightmare but I guess it wasn't. That is unless we had the same nightmare.” Lyric answered. Andrea chuckled and said, “Lord I hope we didn't cause I was dreaming about Dr. Campbell.” “Gross mom. God, that would have been worse then the nightmare I had.” Andrea laughed a hearty laugh at that.

Andrea glanced at the clock beside her bed, 4:20am. Now it was her turn to stretch. As she did she asked Lyric, “Are you up for the day or do you want to go back to sleep?” “I'm pretty sure I'm up plus there are still things you need to tell me about this fabulous ability we have.” Lyric said with just a hint of sarcasm. Andrea grinned at her daughter, “How do you feel about blueberry pancake's this morning?” Lyric smiled at her mother and Koda barked, nothing more had to be said.

As Andrea prepared the pancakes Lyric took Koda outside. When they returned, a plate of hot blueberry pancakes and bacon were waiting on the table and in Koda's dish were two plain pancakes and three slices of bacon. Before either one of them could say a word Koda had wolfed her's down. “Well, it's nice to see someone like's my cooking.” “I like your cooking too.” Lyric said. Lyric piled pancakes and bacon on her plate and started eating. By the time she had finished she had scarfed down 6 pancakes, 6 slices of bacon plus juice and milk. “Oh God, I won't be able to eat another thing until tomorrow.” Lyric complained and rubbed her tummy.

“Well, I should think not.” Andrea laughed and started clearing the dishes. “Go get your sweat shirt on and meet me on the deck.” While Lyric ran upstairs to retrieve her hoodie Andrea made a hot chocolate for Lyric and poured her another coffee. She didn't know why she had started drinking coffee because she usually drank hot tea. It was healthier, and to her, tasted better. She made a mental note to get rid of the coffee and buy her some tea. However, this morning it would be coffee. She put the lids on both mugs and started out the back door to the deck.

Within minutes Lyric came out and plopped down in the chair next to Andrea. Lyric took a sip of her drink and said, “Yummy, your hot chocolate.” Andrea smiled and they both stared out at the fog covering the beach, Koda stretched out beside them. Each of them in their own little world of thought. Andrea thought about what Lyric didn't know about her. What she didn't know about her mother was that Clarsentience was not the only ability she possessed. Andrea also had the ability to see in the future, which meant she was precognitive. Made a hell of a combination when used in conjunction with each other.

Andrea released a deep sigh. “Baby, I need to talk to you about some things that we haven't talked about yet.” “Yeah, like how to control this ability.” Lyric shot over her shoulder. “Well, yes that stuff but some other stuff too, like your father.” Lyric now took a deep sigh of her own. The only things she knew about her father was that he left when she was just 2 years old. She also knew that he sent a check to her mother every month and every year on her birthday and Christmas he sent her present's and money, which she immediately gave away, much to her mother's disagreement.

“Don't know why we have to talk about him. He don't give a shit about me so why should I give a shit about him.” Lyric said, still staring straight ahead at the fog that was now vanishing. Andrea didn't want this to turn into an argument so she refrained from telling Lyric to watch her language. “Lyric, your father cares very much about you.” “Oh yeah, that's why he left when I was two and has never showed his face since. Be sure to remind me on father's day to send him a father of the year card.” Lyric took another drink of her hot chocolate. “And why are we talking about him? What does he have to do with any of this? What, does he have abilities too?”
