Ethan laid awake most of the night thinking about who could have done this and he could only think of one person, Heather. He knew in his gut that Heather did this and she was going to pay for it. That little bitch had a thing for fire, it was her who poured the gasoline in the bottle and throw it in the window of the pizza house, he only drove the truck. He remembered how she would waste a whole lighter by flicking it on and off, staring at the flames mesmerized. She was one sick little bitch and eventually the whole town was going to find that out. He just hoped they did before she burnt the whole town down and before someone really got hurt. Towards early morning Ethan finely fell into a fitful sleep, dreaming of fire and Heather. He awoke at 5am fighting his sheets, thinking that they were aflame.

He went ahead and got up and headed for the shower. He thought the cool water would help him cool off and wake him up, he was right on both accounts. When he finely got out of the shower he felt somewhat relived and refreshed. He toweled off and got dressed for work and headed for the kitchen. He got a glass and poured himself a glass of juice then rummaged through the cabinets and finely found a box of Frosted Mini Wheat's. He poured some in a bowl, added some milk and set down at the kitchen table to eat. He was almost finished when Donner walked in.

Just as he put a spoonful in his mouth Donner said, “Morning, did you get any sleep at all?” Ethan finished what was in his mouth then said, “Not really but it wouldn't be the first time I had to work on less then 30mins sleep.” Donner laughed and replied, “Yeah, I hear ya. Me too.” Donner set about getting him something to eat as Ethan set at the table drinking his juice. “I know who did that to my truck,” Ethan stated. Donner poured milk on his cereal and asked, “Yeah, who?” “Heather, that's who. She got pissed because I ratted her out and she's a, what do ya call'em, a fire bug. People around here don't seem to know just how sick she really is.”

Donner set down at the table across from Ethan and said, “Ethan you can't go accusing someone without any proof. If she did it we will eventually find out.” Ethan interrupted him, “If, she did. There is no if about it, she freaking did it.” “Okay, let's say she did do it. If you go confront her what do you thinks gonna happen? Do you think she's going to confess and even if she did, do you think her father is just gonna let that happen. Hell no. He's gonna turn it around on you because that is what people like him do. Ethan you have to start thinking ahead. You have to think before you act. Don't let people that don't give a shit about you have the control. Your a smart person so start using that smartness to your advantage.”

Donner got up and put his bowl and glass in the sink, “It's almost time to go to work. If your ready let's head in.” Ethan got up and put his dishes in the sink along with Donner's and they both headed out the door to leave. As they were heading into town Donner seen the black VW bug again and asked Ethan, “Do you know who drives that car? I didn't get a look at the driver before they turned.” Ethan scoffed, “That's Heather's new car. She talked non-stop about it for 6 months, her birthday was yesterday. Wonder how she would feel if her car got blown up?” “Ethan, I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear you say that because if something happens to her car who do you think would be the first suspect?” Ethan huffed, “I didn't say I was gonna do it, I just said I wonder how she would feel.”

Donner stop at a red light, “It doesn't matter if you did it or not. What matter's is that you said it and shit like that will get your ass in jail just as quick as if you did do it.” Ethan held up his hands, “Okay, okay I get what your saying. I won't say anything like that again. Geez, everything is an opportunity for you to lecture me.” Donner pulled in the parking lot of the police station, before Donner could shut off the engine Ethan got out of the car and headed across the street to Kate's. Donner then got out of the car and headed to the station.
