Ethan was mopping the floor in the diner when Heather and Tessa walked in, he hadn't noticed them and they hadn't noticed him. Heather walked up to the counter and ordered a banana shake, that was when he heard her voice and there was no mistaking that voice. He turned around and stared at her back when Tessa looked over her shoulder and seen him. “Umm Heather,” Tessa then nudged Heather in the ribs with her elbow. At first Heather went to complain about Tessa nudging her but then saw Ethan. She stood there a few seconds with a huge smile on her face then said, “Hey Ethan, I didn't know you worked here. What a fabulous surprise. I've been looking all over town for you.”

Ethan stood there glaring at Heather, if looks could have killed, Heather would have been 8 feet under the hard cold earth where she belonged. Heather took a few steps towards Ethan. Kate noticed this and said, “Heather, Tessa your shakes are ready.” Heather glanced at Kate and held up a finger indicating for her to wait. Before Heather could say anything Ethan spoke, “I know what you did to my truck Heather and soon everyone else is gonna know it too. You need to get your shakes and leave. Do not ever come back to Kate's and if anything happens to this diner I will come looking for you., he took a step towards her and finished, Got it?”

Heather looked at Ethan, pouted her lips then batted her eye's and said, “I don't know what your talking about Ethan and if I did do what your implying I did, I'm only 16 my daddy and Judge Harris would see to it that nothing would happen to me. Sixteen year old's can't go to prison. However, your 17, you would be charged as an adult.” Heather then turned and payed for her shakes, turned back around towards Ethan and gave a thousand watt smile then she and Tessa left the diner.

Kate came around the counter and rubbed Ethan on the back, as would a mother soothing her child and said, “Ethan, I appreciate you defending the diner but I do not want you doing anything that is going to put yourself in jeopardy. I will talk to my husband and Donner and let them know what happened. There were three people here, myself, you and Eddie, that heard everything she said.” Ethan heard everything Kate said as if she were in a tunnel, his focus had been on Heather the whole time. He leaned on the mop handle and said, “Kate it just drives me crazy that she did what she did and she get's to work at the perfume counter and get's a new car. How is that punishment?”

Kate smiled at him then replied, “Are you telling me you would rather work the perfume counter then here with us?” She winked at Ethan. Ethan smiled back at her and said, “Well at least I would be able to meet all the pretty girls in town.” Kate laughed, as did Ethan and Eddie. As she was walking back around the counter she said, “Finish your work and I'll treat you to a shake afterward.” Ethan resumed mopping as Kate disappeared to the back room.

Eddie came around to the lobby, “Son, girls like that don't deserve the time of day. I knew me a few of them myself and one landed me in prison. What'cha gotta do is keep your head about you, don't let them rattle you. And for God's sake don't let them wile you.” Ethan mopped and nodded at Eddie. Eddie continued with, “I know it sucks that it seems she's getting away with murder but take my word, everything she's done or will do will come back and bit her in her pretty little ass. Then she loses and you win. Just don't let her drag you down with her.” Eddie then got up off the stool and returned back to his kitchen to finish cleaning the grill. He heard Kate talkin to someone on the phone and figured she was talking to either Brad or Donner.

Kate was explaining everything that had happened to Donner, “He handled himself good, didn't let his temper get the best of him. But I'll tell you one, that girl is cold and frankly I don't want her back in this diner.” Kate and Donner finished up their conversation and each hung up their phones. Donner was proud of Ethan for defending Kate's diner and for somewhat keeping his cool. However, Ethan wasn't out of the woods yet and Donner said a silent prayer in hopes that would keep him out of trouble. Just as he finished his silent prayer Brad knocked on this door. Donner waved him in and Brad held up the search warrant's with a big smile on his face, Donner smiled back, stood and said, “Come on let's get the hell over there before she decides to leave the country.”
