Hey guys it's Dred here. I have another rant! This one is over a rather serious topic and I may or may not get hate for it but you are all a bunch of respectable people so I don't expect much. If you only argument against my opinion is "You are wrong! You don't have ________ or ________ so ______ _______ ______" then it is going to get deleted. Only bring valid argument and your comment will be kept even if it is against mine. I respect your opinion so don't insult me for mine. So lets get started!

So as most of you should know there is a death penalty in multiple states in the US. Some people strongly disagree with it and some people support it too much.

The way the death penalty is executed is not entirely right. The way the government decides how people are innocent or guilty is not entirely correct because it ends with a small portion of the people every year who actually get the death penalty being innocent and sentenced to death for a crime they didn't commit. I do not agree with the way they investigate weather a man is guilty or not. But I do agree that a murderer's life has no value if he is willing to commit murder without remorse or regret.

Locking them up for life is supposed to teach them something? Punish them for the crime they committed and make them regret it. It doesn't work. They wanted to do it and they wanted people to know what they had done. The only thing they would regret is getting caught. If they cry during their execution it is not because they regret killing someone. It is because they want to appeal to your human nature and deceive you. They are not men but monsters. Men do not kill other men in cold blood. Only monsters do. Monsters can look like men as men can look like monsters.

I value human life. Not a monsters. If a monster does not value a humans life then why should his life have any value?

Humans do not kill for the sake of killing. Monsters do.

Now for a hypothetical situation.

A man who committed murder and is guilty in all cases and is in no way innocent is being put in jail for the rest of his life.

You are given a device that takes you back in time an hour before the murder, where the murder happened. You have a gun and a phone that can only call the police department. You cannot be seen or talk to anyone but those in the police department and you have no way to prove you are from the future or that you were even there.

The murderer has a gun and a bomb strapped to his chest. Since you cannot speak to him you cannot convince him not to murder the man he is planning to murder. You cannot talk to the man who he plans to murder so you cannot get him to avoid the situation.

If you call the police they will arrive with the swat team and corner the murderer with his now hostage man that he planned to murder. The murderer is not willing to go to jail at this point and will either be shot dead by the police or will trigger the bomb and kill even more people with himself.

If you don't call the police and do not shoot the murderer then the natural path of history will continue and he will kill the man, try to hide the evidence, and get caught the next day with only the man being dead.

Your only options are to either

1) Shoot the murderer and prevent the murder from happening, nobody is blamed and nobody dies but the murderer and nobody is sent to prison.

2) Call the police and they arrive at the scene where either the murderer ends up shot and killed, or detonates the bomb and kills himself, the man, several other innocent people in the area, and multiple cops.

3) Don't do anything and allow everything to progress the way it did before you went to the past leaving the man dead, and the murder in prison for the rest of his life.

Which option would you choose? Leave in the comments below.
