It took a lot for Theo to allow Demi more leeway with his rules. Which meant that he didn't have any rules at all. Theo felt bad about what happened with Demi when he ran away, so he just gave up on trying to control the man.

Theo took him out and not just because he felt bad. After the mind-blowing sex he had when Demi was in heat, he realized that he really wanted to try and love him. It was completely new and unfamiliar for Theo, but he was trying.

Demi was able to leave as he pleased as long as he took a couple of bodyguards and ate whenever he wanted. The last thing Theo needed to do was tell Demi about his family. Something he's been dreading since he learned the truth. But now it seemed like an okay time to do it. His soon-to-be husband was lounging on the couch in the living room, a movie playing, and he was somewhat snuggling with Theo.

The Omega was slowly starting to trust him again and Theo was really trying not to fuck it all up like he's known to do. He just hoped that what he was about to tell Demi wouldn't ruin that fragile trust that felt all too new.

"Do you not like the movie?" Theo tore his gaze away from the wall he was staring at to look at Demi who faced him now.

"No. I mean, yes. It's just..." Theo ran a hand through his hair, paused the movie they were watching and fully turned towards Demi so they were face to face.

"I have to tell you something and I'm worried that you'll hate me for it." Even if Theo was telling Demi the truth, he's been hiding it from him for a while now.

"What is it? It can't be as bad as what you said two weeks ago." Meaning the day he ran away. He had heard everything that he, River, and Quinn were talking about that day. None of them realized he was standing there at the time.

"I feel like it's worse than that because I know how much this is going to hurt you." Theo reached out to take Demi's hand, giving him plenty of time to pull away. When he didn't, Theo smiled and took his hand in a soft grip.

"I was wondering about your heritage, so I did a little digging and I found out something that you probably won't like. It wasn't because I wanted to know why you couldn't get pregnant but it was more like I wanted to get to know you." Theo was lying straight through his teeth. It was better if Demi didn't know the whole truth. That he had talked to his father and found out what actually happened.

"So what did you find? I already know why I can't have children. It's because I don't produce enough or strong enough eggs. I have a very and I mean very low chance of getting pregnant." Well, Theo didn't know that part.

"You ever wonder why you didn't look like your siblings or your parents?" And it was a good question. One that should have been asked a long time ago.

"A lot actually. More than I care to think about." And fuck didn't that just stab Theo right through his heart. Demi had every right to know the truth that his family has been hiding from him.

"Well, I know why you don't." Demi met his eyes and Theo tried to smile at him. One that portrayed how much he cared and wanted to comfort Demi.

"Okay. Please explain." Theo sighed again and tightened his hand around Demi's. He was known to run when things got tough.

"You are not your mother's child. Your father had an affair with an Omega that came from a lineage of infertile Omega's. The woman who gave birth to you died after having you. It was something that no one could have stopped. It was in her blood and now...it's in yours." Theo licked his lips after his speech and looked up at Demi.

Tears dripped down his pale face that Theo wiped off. Demi's bottom lip trembled and all the Alpha wanted to do was gather him in his arms and hug him. And that's what he did. He pulled the large Omega up into his lap and wrapped Demi in his arms. Demi fell against his chest like a bag of rocks, burying his face in Theo's neck as he let out hiccuping sobs that wreaked his body.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm here, Demi. I'm here." He rubbed Demi's heaving back and held him as tight as he could.

"Come on, baby. Let's get you some water." Without warning, Theo stood up taking Demi with him. Despite Demi's large size, Theo had no problems caring for him. The Omega wrapped his arms and legs around Theo and held on like a spider monkey.

Theo held Demi under the thighs as he walked to the kitchen. He set Demi on the counter, prying his limbs away from his body and ignoring the whines that slipped out of his Omega. Theo shushed him again as he filled up a glass of water and grabbed a couple of paper towels off of the roll.

He wiped Demi's face, then made him drink the water through his gasp for air. He was so distraught that it had Theo's heart breaking even more.

"H-How could h-he?" Demi said between gulps of water and gasping breaths. Theo ran his hand through his air and released his scent in a calming manner. Anything to get Demi settled down before he made himself sick.

"I don't know. I won't say that some men are just like that because I'm one of those men. But I will say that you deserve better than him or me. Really you do." Theo watched how Demi took in huge breaths of his scent and wiped more of his tears away.

"I don't want anyone else." Theo cleaned his face again and picked him back up once all the water was gone. He carried Demi into the living room and sat down still holding the Omega in his lap.

"I'm glad. Because I don't think I can live without you now, Demi." Theo let Demi get the rest of it out of his system and just waited until he was done. Let his scent, light touches, and gentle words soothe him.

"I hate him. I hate him so much. He used to hit me a lot when I was younger, you know. It got better as I became older but he would still hit me whenever I did something he didn't like." Theo felt something twist in his stomach at the reveal and jerked Demi closer.

"Is that why you had a bruise on your cheek when you arrived?" He could remember it like it was yesterday and not almost a month ago.

"Yeah." Demi let out a small laugh and rubbed at his eyes with the back of his hand. "I got drunk the night before I arrived and thought I was going to run away. With liquor in my veins and bags packed, I tried to leave in the middle of the night. It didn't go as planned." Theo could imagine all of it.

"I woke the entire family up, and my father hit me for back talking him. It hurt like a bitch but not as much as Luca's did." Theo flinched at the memory of Luca backhanding Demi so hard that he fell to the ground. It was something Theo should have stopped as Quinn did. It wasn't right.

"I can imagine. I've been hit a couple of times by Luca." Demi tilted his head at him in question so Theo elaborated. It was time that Demi knew about the hit-man side of things.

"I'm going to tell you something else but I feel like you'll take this better than the other thing. I run and own a hit-man business." Demi's eyes grew wide and he gasped a little bit.

"Holy shit. You do?" A grin started to form on Demi's face and it wasn't something Theo expected.

"Yeah, I do. We mostly kill people who have done bad in our world. A lot of drug lords and shit like that. I didn't know you would be this excited about it."

"Of course I am. Can you kill my father for me?" For some reason, Theo did expect that.

"No, I can't. He's a big man that people would notice missing. Sorry, babydoll." Demi's shoulders slumped in disappointment but all it did was make Theo laugh.

Fucking hell what was he going to do with this Omega?
