Fuck, Demi didn't mean to sound so jealous but he was nonetheless. Theo was his and only his. This Annie person can go fuck off for all he cared. Demi just got Theo back and now he's sitting here talking about someone else. Yeah, he was jealous, so sue him.

Demi clenched the notebook in his fist before he handed it off to Theo for an explanation. He could tell Theo was nervous. Theo bit his lower lip and picked at his nails as he refused to look at Demi, then he started to write.

'He's a friend. Someone like me.' What the fuck did he mean by that?

"What do you mean, sweetheart? Like you?" Demi reached over and took one of Theo's hands to force him to stop picking. He was making himself bleed. With his free hand, he answered Demi.

'A whore.' Demi glared at Theo before he could stop it. He never liked it when Theo talked badly about himself and that hasn't changed.

"You are not a whore, Theodore. And I don't want you to ever call yourself that again. Got it?" Theo lifted his head to look at Demi and he could see the refusal in his golden eyes. He pulled his gaze away to furiously write something down, Demi stopped him.

"No. I'm not going to listen to any of it, baby. If I say you're not a whore then you're not one. Okay?" Theo finally gave him a reluctant nod and they became quiet.

"Let me call a nurse for you." Demi used his free hand to press the call button over Theo's bed and they waited for either the doctor or a nurse to walk in. He sat back down and just watched Theo.

His dragon had turned his head to the other side and stared out the window in his hospital room. Demi counted all of the cuts that would scar his face, then the bruises that were in different stages of healing.

The doctors said the cuts in the corners of his mouth won't scar but the split in the middle of his bottom lip would. He also gained two long jagged scars on his shoulder blades from his wings and a scar near his tailbone from his tail.

The scars on his back and tailbone were normal. Something everyone got after their first shift. They usually fade over the years but Theo's probably never will. Not for a very long time at least.

They did a full body check-up and found other problems along the way. Theo's throat was ruined and they had to do surgery to fix the damaged tissue. Where he had been stabbed wasn't too bad. It just bled a lot. The injuries below his waist were the worst the doctors have ever seen. That's what they told Demi. He didn't ask for details because he didn't think he could handle knowing the whole truth. They just stitched and repaired what they could.

Demi was pushed from his horrible thoughts when Theo made a noise to gain his attention. Their eyes locked. With a shaky hand, Theo held his face and wiped at his cheeks. The fingertips came back wet. Demi didn't even know he was crying.

"Sorry. I shouldn't be the one crying. Fuck, I'm not even the one hurt. I'm sorry." Demi used his hand to wipe at his eyes and took in a small breath to calm himself down.

'It's okay.' He quickly assured him. It became silent between them again but it was a comfortable silence. One that Demi felt was needed. As they sat there and waited for someone to come in and check on Theo, Demi felt nauseous again. How many times has he gotten sick already today?

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Okay?" He let Theo's hand go without waiting for the other man to give him an answer and went to the bathroom attached to Theo's room. He barely got the door shut before he was hugging the bowl and throwing up.

He knew Theo could hear him with his stupid dragon hearing. He was just happy that the man couldn't ask him if he was okay. Demi lifted his head, wiped at his mouth with the back of his hand, and felt the need to reassure Theo. Even if it was quiet in the other room.

"I'm okay, Theo. Just a little si-." He wasn't able to get it all out before he was getting sick again. His stomach hurt from the force of it as he coughed the rest of it up. He took in a ragged breath to get himself back together.

Demi jumped a little when there was a knock on the bathroom door and he knew for a fact it wasn't Theo.

"Mr. Rose? Are you okay?" Shit. It was Theo's doctor.

"Yeah, I'm good." He sat there for a minute until he started to feel a little bit better. His stomach still hurt but he didn't feel like he was going to get sick. Demi stood up, flushed the toilet, and rinsed his mouth out with water.

"Would you like us to wait until you're in the room before I talk to Mr. Mateo?" Demi swished the water in his mouth before he spits it out in the sink.

"Yes please." He cleaned up his face from any tears, snot, or spit and stared at himself in the mirror for a minute. Feeling like he could face the doctor and his mate, Demi opened the bathroom door. The men in the room looked at him.

Demi felt like a bug under a microscope as the doctor stared at him, but Theo's face was filled with worry for his mate.

"I'm okay, I swear. I think I'm just stressed." The doctor continued to stare.

"I would like to do some tests, Mr. Rose. If that would be okay with you?" Demi smiled at the doctor, Mr. Moore, and gave him a nod of approval as he stepped towards Theo.

"Of course Mr. Moore. Do whatever needs to be done to make sure Theo is okay." Demi took Theo's hand in his once he had reached him and smiled a little when he felt Theo rub his thumb over his knuckles.

"I was talking about you, Mr. Rose. I would like to run some tests on you." Demi could only blink a couple of times at the doctor. He didn't know what to say. Theo made a noise in question before he asked 'why?' by writing it down.

"Is this the first time you've gotten sick today?" A noise that sounded like irritation came from Theo at being ignored and Demi soothed him until he settled down.

"Um, no? I just really think it's from stress. This was a lot to take on at once." Demi tried to tell the two men in the room. But he didn't even sound convincing to his own ears.

A tap on his hand had the Omega turning his head away from the doctor to look at Theo and he could see the fear on his face. He already had everything written down while Demi talked to Mr. Moore.

'Maybe you should go get some tests done. Just in case.' If Theo wanted him to, then he would.

"Really? Because that means I would have to leave you to go and get these tests done." Theo gave him a small confident nod with a smile to boot.

'Quinn?' Demi knew what Theo meant with the name as he looked down at the notebook.

"Yeah, okay. Quinn can come in here and sit with you while I go and get some tests done." After that, Mr. Moore told them that Theo was all good and could go home after Demi gets a few tests done. It was good news.

Demi got up, kissed Theo's head, and told him he would be back before he knew it. He sent Quinn in as he walked down the hall with Mr. Moore. Quinn started to ask what was going on and all Demi said was;

"Test." He followed Mr. Moore into another room and sat down as the doctor grabbed a few things he needed. He did a normal check-up, asked some weird questions about Demi's body then took a vial of his blood. Mr. Moore sent it off to the lab to do some tests on it.

"Now all we have to do is wait. It shouldn't take too long." He left Demi in the room to go check on his other patients and Demi texted Quinn to see how Theo was doing as he waited.

A half-hour later and Mr. Moore comes back into the room with a smile that couldn't be described as anything but happy.

"Well congratulations, Demitri. You're two months pregnant. Which explains why you're sick." Demi couldn't believe what he was just told.

"P-Pregnant?"
