Theo watched with blank eyes as his brain tried to catch him up on what was happening before him. The drugs were making him too slow and stupid to react accordingly. Somewhere, deep down inside, Theo knew what he was supposed to do but his heavy and aching limbs weren't making a connection.

"Where's the fucking key?" Theo tilted his head to the side so he was able to look at Demi. His sweet, beautiful Omega mate came to save him. And he couldn't be happier.

Theo would never admit it, but he started to believe that no one would come to his rescue. That the horrible words and derogatory names Joseph would say to Theo were becoming real in his mind.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Theo instinctively flinched at Joseph's voice and something inside of him knew where the key was to the locks on the chains wrapped around his appendages. If only he could get his thick dumb tongue to work.

Theo licked at his lips and grimaced at the sting left behind. He knew his mouth was wrecked beyond repair. The cuts in the corners may even scar along with the split down the middle that hasn't gotten the chance to heal yet.

"D-Demi." With the drugs laced in his veins, Theo didn't think about what would happen if he distracted Demi. Not until it was too late.

Demi took his eyes off Joseph for just a second and in that matter of time, the man lunged at Theo's mate. The haze that clouded Theo's eyes and made it feel like there was cotton in his brain seemed to finally clear.

As Joseph tackled Demi to the ground and knocked his gun from his hand, a snarl went up in the air. Theo pulled at his arms as he tried to sit up and a heat ate at his lungs. He was pissed. How dare that disgusting piece of scum touch his mate.

The metal frame he was chained to started to bend, catching the attention of the men on the ground. They scrambled for the gun that lay halfway under the bed. Until Demi pulled out a knife from his thigh and went to stab Joseph in his ugly face. It didn't go as planned.

Joseph took Demi's wrist in a tight fist, one Theo knew all too well and started to turn the knife in his hand. Forcing the sharp edge towards Demi's face. Theo growled in his throat at the threat and he jerked his arms to his side. The chains came loose as a strength he didn't feel before filling his blood. The chains around his legs came next and soon Theo was standing. It's been a while since he's been able to stand on his own two feet.

Theo stepped up behind the struggling duo, took a piece of the chain that still hung off of his arm, and wrapped it around Joseph's neck. Theo leaned in real close to his ear a snarl on his lips as he growled.

"Don't. Fucking. Touch. Him." He could feel blood bubble up his throat and he tried not to choke on it. The grip that Joseph had on Demi's hand went slack but not before he was able to get the knife. The serrated blade went into Theo's left side and the dragon threw his head back to snarl in pain. What no one expected was the mouth full of fire to come out instead. That heat that was building up in his lungs was the result of the blue/yellow flames licking at the ceiling.

Theo let the chain fall from his hands and Joseph crawled away from him taking the blade along for the ride. The jagged end tore and ripped at his flesh, making blood gush in rivers down his side. It hurt like a bitch and Theo covered the wound with his dirty hand to try and stop the bleeding. His vision went wonky but he stayed kneeling.

"We have to go, Theo. Get up." Demi was at his side in no time, helping Theo stand up once again. When they turned towards the door to escape the collapsing ceiling, Joseph stood there blocking their exit. He had a manic look in his brown eyes as he pointed the knife toward them.

"I don't think so, Angel. You're mine." Theo growled as more fire started to burn in his lungs. He was going to fry Joseph to a crisp if the man didn't move. As the fire built inside of him, Theo felt little pinpricks of pain. It was in his arms, legs, sides, and back. It was becoming uncomfortable to be in his skin.
