Demi happily waltzed up to the front counter in the toy shop and dropped their purchase in front of the girl who looked bored as hell. He could see Theo out of the corner of his eye and tried not to laugh at his dragon's flushed face. The girl didn't even look at them as she scanned the toys and rang them up.
"That'll be eighty-seven dollars and fifty-five cents." Demi held his hand out towards Theo and he grinned as the Alpha groaned before slapping his wallet in the palm of Demi's hand. He pulled one of the very many credit cards out and gave it to the girl.
She put the toys in a thick black bag without a logo and handed it off to them after she gave Demi the card back. He pocketed the card and gave the bag to Theo to hold before he shoved Theo's wallet into his back pocket. Theo let out a shocked gasp as Demi hit his ass once the wallet was in his pants.
"Let's go, baby. The movie is about to start." He heard Theo grumble something under his breath but Demi didn't ask what it was. He was just too happy with their purchases to scold him right now.
As they walked towards the movie theater in the mall, Theo started to slow down. Demi glanced at his phone and sighed. They would miss half the movie at this rate. It was time to push Theo just a little. Demi turned around and faced the man with a wicked grin. One that he knew Theo liked.
Demi stepped into his space real close, wrapped his arms around Theo's neck, and nuzzled his nose against his dragon's throat. A quiet whimper escaped Theo's mouth before he was burying his face in Demi's shoulder.
"If you watch the movie with me, I'll do whatever you want tonight when we get home." Theo perked up at his suggestion, pulling his face out of Demi's throat to look at him. His golden eyes were huge, his lips parted just a bit.
"Promise?" Demi didn't really know what he was promising but how bad could it be? Demi leaned into Theo and curled his fingers in the back of the Alpha's hair. Mushing his hair up even more.
"I promise. Now let's go or we're going to miss it." Demi gave Theo a kiss that didn't linger long enough, took his hand in his, and dragged the man to the movie theater.
The first mistake Demi made, was taking Theo to a crowded place to watch a scary movie. Second, was letting his dragon hold the popcorn. What he didn't regret though was how tight Theo held on to him and how he hid his face in Demi's shoulder at the really scary parts.
Demi had officially confiscated the popcorn after half of it landed on the floor and the other half in his hair. Theo didn't like the jump scares which Demi should have seen coming. It was just a bit surprising how scared Theo was. The man killed people for a living.
At a scene where a zombie pops up on screen and the human throws an axe in his head making blood spray everywhere, Theo yelps. A few people around them turned to look at the noise and seemed shocked to see that it came from the Alpha.
"You have to be quiet, puppy. Other people are watching the movie." He gave the people staring at them a smile of apology and they turned to look back at the movie as Demi did the same.
"I feel sick, Demi." That pulled Demi's attention from the movie and he glanced down at Theo who did look a little pale. They weren't even halfway through the movie but Demi didn't want him to throw up. It must have been all of the blood and gore that did it.
"Okay. We can go, sweetheart." Demi pried Theo off of him, then helped him up. Theo wobbled a bit until he got his bearings. He looked mostly out of it. His mind was probably on trying not to get sick in a public place.
Once they were sitting on a bench outside of the theater, Theo started to settle down. Demi had his mate's face in his neck and he was softly soothing him. The dark helped Theo keep his mind off of throwing up.
"I didn't think it would have made you sick. I'm sorry, pup. That one was on me." Demi kissed the side of Theo's head and sighed against him.
"It's okay. You know when I kill someone, I try to keep it as clean as possible. I don't do all the blood and guts because I can't handle it." Demi did not take into consideration how Theo killed. He just knew that his dragon murdered people.
"I didn't know that. Which makes me feel even worse." Theo finally pulled his face out of Demi's throat and smiled at him.
"I watched the trailer, and I agreed to it. So don't feel bad. Thanks for helping me out of there though. I was really about to upchuck my lunch." Demi chuckled at him before pulling Theo into a hug.
"Of course Theo. I didn't feel like being thrown up on anyways." They sat there for a minute, snuggled close together. Theo still acted like he was out of it, so it was the perfect time to slip away.
"Do you mind staying here for a minute? I want to go buy you something I saw in one of the shops we passed." Demi was worried that Theo would fight on going with him but he didn't. With a wave of his hand and a tilt of his head, he let Demi go.
Demi gave him a kiss, stood up, and started making his way back toward the toy shop. If Theo needed him then the man could just call. It shocked Demi that he had actually let him go though. After the whole kidnapping thing. Maybe he trusted Demi enough that he didn't worry about him. That made Demi a little happy.
Once he was back in the toy shop, he picked up the pink leash and collar combo and then went to the front counter. It was a different person working now. He laid the item down on the counter and smiled at the man before him.
"Do you have this in black? Maybe blue if not."
With his purchase in hand and discreetly hidden in the black bag, Demi went back to where he had left Theo. His dragon was sitting on the bench, his legs out and crossed at the ankle as he scrolled through his phone.
A few people, mostly women who were probably Omega's eyed him but didn't stop to talk. It could have something to do with the mating mark displayed on Theo's throat or the fact that he looked really intimidating. Whichever it was, it made Demi proud. It felt good knowing that his mate was wanted by many but would only submit for Demi. Belonged to Demi.
A possessive streak went through Demi as a brave female Omega stopped to talk to Theo. He did not like that. Not one bit. The only thing that saved Theo's ass from being beaten raw was that he bluntly ignored the female. Like she wasn't even on his fucking radar.
Demi squared his shoulders and approached the duo. As soon as Theo smelled him coming, the Alpha looked in his direction with a dazzling smile on his face. The female looked offended at being ignored altogether.
Theo left the bench and met Demi halfway. He wrapped his arms around his Omega and sniffed the side of his neck. As if making sure Demi didn't have anyone else's scent on him.
"Missed you," Theo said after he was done basically rubbing his scent off on Demi. Marking him even more. Demi melted in his arms. How could he think that Theo would even talk to the female? He should have known better than that.
"Missed you too, pup." He wrapped his arms around Theo's neck and kissed him. "Ready to go home?" Demi didn't think that Theo even noticed the bag in his hand. Which he was thankful for.
"Yes, please." Demi let him go, took his hand, and started to lead Theo out of the mall. The female was left standing there without a second thought.
Demi listened to Theo talk as they walked to the car. His dragon was talking about work but Demi didn't care. They were together and that's all that mattered to him.
"Let's go get ice cream." He said when there was a lull in Theo's talk. His mate gave him another smile and a nod like it was the best thing Demi said all day. Maybe an ice cream date would have been better than a scary movie in the first place. Demi knows that now.
